I found the location to be quite convenient for navigating around interesting parts of the city, and the Mercer Kitchen has always been a great restaurant that I enjoy frequenting. All the doorman were grate. The mini-bar was well organised. The location was good. I was there with my sister. We were sharing a bed. It was too soft and bounced too much to get a good sleep. The lift and corridors were very dark. You could hardly pick the right floor in the lift. Slow service in restaurant in the morning and very ordinary staff, who could not be bothered. Had to ask for butter 3 times, before it arrived. Asked for a bread basket. It contained a sugery doughnut. Surprise!. Air conditioning not responsive to control. Had to turn off to warm up the room. Expensive for breakfast. Too expensive and pretentious. Staggeringly expensive; its pretty hard to see where your money goes, other than you are staying in Soho - but there isn't much to that either - just a few blocks of expensive designer clothes stores. the staff at the Mercer seem a little more impressed with the hotel than I was. Service is good but hardly outstanding for what you pay - its just a little bit of a mystery why this place is so expensive! Restaurant downstairs is decent but very busy and noisy. No way to get a cab on this side street, doormen were never there, staff in lounge area need training, lounge area right not comfortable at all, outside door leads right into lounge area, not a good place to relax. The rooms. I did not like aspects of customer services--minimal information was given on matters where more information should have been made available, cleaning services were not efficient or discerning in the most effective ways, and a woman working at the front desk (presumably a manager) was rather aloof when approached with pertinent questions. The room was cold looking and with no design. The tv didn't have usb plug. The restaurant was poor and expensive. When we checked out we had two coffee to go. We payd $20 and it was cold coffee.
