i liked that the beds were comfortable and the fellow guests were reasonably considerate. i liked the fact that i was not treated as just another number and was able to book in my valuables for safekeeping and build a relationship with the reception throughout my stay. The position was great, I never felt threatened in the area. Great staff, very friendly and super helpful. The facilities were adequate and clean. A great hostel for the budget traveller in central London. Made lots of friends.
all reviews » My 10 bed room was spacious and full of light. Good connections by tube and bus (bus 328, c1, c3, 10 connect with High Street Kensington and Oxford road). Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Sainsbury shops in the nearby. Staff at the reception is nice and helpful. Dormitories are clean, comfortable and have plenty of space. Bathroom clean. Very well located, near to tube station served by three lines: Piccadilly, Circle and District. All other aspects were fine. It is a hostel so towels and soap have to be purchased. the barbecue in the evenings on the terrace a great institution and wine could be bought anywhere along the Earls court road. I like the staffs there, the clearners were okay with their jobs and the receptionist were great to us too. The location of the hotel is perfect, it takes less then 20mins to get to places of interest. Simple and perfect place for backpackers, reception desk very hospitable, housekeeping staff did thier job well... Budget place in a posh area of london.. And linens are all clean.. Thank you. good location, near the undergrand station, nice staff, heating is good, temperature is comfortabe, the room not was on full (was just 4 people), cheapest price, everything was ok!. For London it's a very cheap accomodation, if you're planning to stay for longer than a weekend or are travelling with (small) children you should look for something else. The low price & the corresponding value for money. Employed staff were generally friendly, but not always very competent, possibly because they were being micro-managed. Comfortable bed, though the pillow was very thin; but I had to move a chest and clamber up using the bottom bunk (in which someone was sleeping) in order to get to it. The second time here, cool area, closeness to tube (very important factor), a lot of different pubs, bars and cafe, centre of London. - The rooms are fairly open and cleaned regularly - The location is a 4 min walk away from Earl's Court Station. Location was great. Also it was a last minute booking and the price was very good as well. £44 for 3 nights. i did not like the downstairs shower-there was no place to put my dry things. and there also needs to be an adequate sized bin in the rooms for all the guests. Valuables must be left at the reception as there are no proper lockers in the rooms and theft has been recorded. They should also improve their kitchen facilities. They had only a microwave oven, in high demand, an electric kettlle, 4 soup bowls and 1 chair....nothing else... Internet connection (both wi-fi and on desktop) is charged - at least wi-fi at the reception could be free. They don't have breakfast included in price. Everything was fine as fine except the Wi Fi did not work, and the staff were feeble about getting it (not) fixed. it was over a week end and the hostel was full. So we had to find local cafes etc and do our internet over completely public networks. My window could not close, but the office took care of the computer dring the day. I always sleep with the window open so no problemns there. I didnt like the fact that the beds makes lots of noice, some of the guest make too much noice right oposite your room and its hard to get a sleep. there is no free wifi. apart from these, i think its a perfect place. No negative comment for me... Its perfect and budget place for me in london. - everything was ok!. Check in is strictly after 14.00 lack of showers. have to pay for the wifi and breakfast, and the toilet and bathroom only located at the ground floor. You get what you are paying for so the facilities are a bit basic. They have changed the hostel name and it was really hard (and expensive) to find it. Now its called The Londonears Hostel. no lift and no shower on the 4th floor. No elevator and must climb many plants. Lack of working sockets, no towels to hire (was under the impression there would be before I arrived). staff just ok, not very friendly. We had got some problems since the staff put other people in our room... twice! By the way after the first day we solved the problem and everything went fine. Wifi is payed 1£ for 24 hrs. No communal space, and they wont allow you to sit in reception so was a bit boring. The helper acts a bit cocky ... . At the begining we must wait for a long time for check in. beds squeaked quite a lot. Being the only female in a room with 5 men. I do not think that is a good idea for you or for me. Staff were not friendly and very disorganised. That I had to change the room because in the first one it was a dirty person who was realy strange. I did not like the whole dormity experince, it is really uncomfortable. The lack of hot water in the showers. -. a lot of people in reception. The breakfast. Paid in full through letsbookhotel.com, upon arrival, had to pay another £16, staff would give no explanation as to why. Staff spoke broken English and could barely muster a sentence between them. Room hasn't been cleaned once during stay. £3 breakfast for slices of ham and bread.Very bare room. No chair to hang clothes on. Did not feel very safe with clientele. Wont go again. It was very COLD!! And not so pleasent water in the showers! (cold). Although it wasn't dirty, the bathrooms and rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Some showers were out of order. Te bathroom do not look like th photos at all!!! I don't know where these pictures were taken! The bathrooms could use a shelf or something where you can put your clothes and stuff, not everyone wants to put their things on the floor. The duty manager was unbelievaby rude. The keycards kept having to be reset. The emphasis of the hostel was visibly money. The first loo I tried had no light and no paper. There was something slippery on the floor. The first shower I tried had water all across the entrance. The ants in my room, travellers that were not polite and not quiet patiently. - The staff can sometimes be unpleasant - The rooms currently seem unorganized (tons of ppl in lobby trying to find their room booked). Some other people were completely ignorant of the fact that you wanted to sleep (in an 8bed).
