The staff were very helpful. I booked a single room and they called to see how I was doing after they checked me in. When I said the room was small, they transferred me to a bigger room within moments - and it even had a bowl of fruit in it. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and contain all you need, although quite small - it is London after all. The location is within a five minute walk to Paddington, Bayswater and Queensway stations and all points in London are easily accessible via the tube. The breakfast was the tatsiest I found in the area. The staff were very professional, unfailingly cheerful, very helpful and very obliging. I would recommend guests stay at the hotel for either business or pleasure. We booked three rooms: the double bed which was not small and not big ( you have space for your luggage ) and the toilet was good, the club room which was verrry spacious in every thing, the junior room which is obviously the biggest one! All beds are comfortable, very clean, room had all facilities you need, the area around the hotel is very quiet and very new. Deserves the 4 stars and very valuable. Last but not least, there's a supermarket near by!. Loved the wired internet. Much more reliable, faster, and secure than Wi-Fi. I know the wireless is more trendy, but nothing beats a wired network connection. Check-In and Check-Out times were very convenient. Proximity to Paddington Station and Hyde Park very appealing, too. For the double and club room there's no cabinet for clothes (except the junior room). You have to walk for few min. to reach the closest bus or tube station. Would like to have been able to enable captions on television, so I could keep volume down during late night or early morning viewing. While very friendly, the staff was not particularly helpful. The room was a bit noisy (from the heating system, footsteps from other floors and street). I canot remember anything I did not like. I had requested a quiet room away from the street and I was still given a room facing the street at street level (!) too so I had to go through the fuss of changing rooms. The kitchen was supposed to be open until 9 pm but I could not place an order at 8:45 pm. our room was in the basement/ground floor with light/no windows to look out for some daylight! This disappointment actually did not really weigh up the very nice room and interiors, though I do appreciate that I had a fair room-deal!. The evening restaurant was ok, but seemed a bit bear, more like a bar, which it was. We are old fashiled and like tables laid out with table cloths and cutlary. But staf were polite and friendly. Nothing. There is no way not to get some water on the floor because of the shower's design. Of course they provide a towel mat for that, so no biggie. - Temperature control for shower didn't work properly. The water was always too hot! - Air Conditioning didn't really work; as a result, room was too warm to sleep in, which is why I had to keep the window open at night... - Mini-Bar in room was empty. Would have expected small selection of cold beverages and confectionery. - No proper desk and chair in room. Mattress was too small for the bed and kept hitting my legs on it !! It was actually no big deal - just the only thing that was wrong !. There was that typical cellar smell, it could use som airing. A bit of a longish walk for two sets of aging legs, to the nearest Underground. Bathroom was a little on the small side, but the walk-in shower made up for this. Although the rooms were modern and nicely appointed, the bathroom lighting was poor and the relationship of the toilet to the shower screen could be challenging for a bigger person. The screen was definitely an after thought. Maybe the designer should be called to the carpet for that one. ) This is only a design issue, the hotel was very good in all respects. The price!. Bit further out than I had imagined, but with Paddington station only 5 mins walk away then it was good place to start a London City Break. I had to pay extra for the breakfast and it was very expensive. The restaurant opening hours, should be available during the day. lift not working and other lift very slow. The dinner was generic. The breakfast was reasonable, but of lower standard than the upmarket hotels. Nothing it was great!!. Location: Its location is a good 5-10 min walk to the nearest tube station though. Its a bit hard to find as well as all the streets and building look the same: i know these are both minor and no fault of the hotel though. I found the room smaller than I expected. There was very little room to walk around in. A couple of the staff members were a little rude. We did fine the breakfast table small to hold all of the items. In addtion the tables were very close together. Basement level rooms. Nothing. Room was very small, compared to others we have stayed in on this trip. Breakfast was good, but an additional charge. I could be wrong but the cleaning staff going up and down corridor heavy footed and chatting early hours. Upon arriving we were given room at the ground floor almost without window and very small. After complaint were moved to a normal one. I disliked the fact that no ale was available in the bar. Too warm at night. Room was a little small,key card kept failing. The room we were given was rather small with limited storage space. My sister, who was on her own, was allocated a room with at least 50% more space than my husband and I. Not been able to check in till 2pm is very inconvienent especially because we got there at 11am and it was snowing outside. A very noisy loud machine near my room it was really scary I think it was heater. Hotel room was a bit tiny, but every inch of the room was very well utilized. Can't complain about anything. Its too expensive to stay more than a couple of days.
