Easy to find....easy access for touring of London...we found the staff very friendly, and competent....good value for the money. ......the bathrooms were very clean.....hotel was quiet at night....breakfast was ample with variety. I always stay here because of the reasonable price, the substantial breakfast, the cleanliness of the rooms, the ideal central location (5-minute walk from Euston and British Museum). Breakfast was good and plentiful. Tea or coffee served at any time in the lounge when asked. Free of charge. Room at the back, peaceful, with private shower and toilet. Hotel close by two underground stations, one of them St. Pancras (also Euro star station). The room was clean and tidy, the staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Fan in shower insufficient, room got rather damp during showering. . the street noise is a bit intrusive at night.a bit thin walls and bit noise. The decor was a bit old and bland, but everything was clean. The room was small, but being a Londoner I expected this, however my Canadian boyfriend was not impressed! The walls seemed thin - but luckily we didn't have any noisy neighbours, but this could have been an issue.Wouldn't want to stay for many nights as shared loo and shower not ideal with kids. The noise from the street.Toilets were on another floor, and the stairs were a hell to climb withaching feet... :) And considering that one toilet had to serve manyrooms, the flushing system could have been loads better. Low pressure of the shower on the fourth floor.The towel provided was not freshly cleaned.The soap given in the room was used as well. There is no international breakfast option. English breakfast is also not complete (mushroom and potato is missing). When hotel is full of guests, it's difficult to use bathrooms and toilets.Dingy room (although clean) and the shower/toilet room was very cramped.Fire exit concerns on upper floors. room not heated. shared toilets were not always clean or with paper. double bed are very small (to small for me and my pregnant wife). No noise isolation from the street, but it is quiet during the night.The wardrobe in the room was broken. the room was very small.very small room; old and shared :/ bathroom. No chef for breakfast so inadequate meal offered.no television in the room, too noise if open the window. The singleroom had an air of clastrophobia over it.

The St.Athans Hotel is a family run, simple and clean bed & breakfast hotel in the heart of London, within walking distance of the British Museum, the University of London, the New British Library and just a short bus ride away from Madame Tussaud’s and the West End with it’s many shops, Theatreland and famous night spots.
The hotel is situated in the elegant Bloomsbury area, once home to Dickens and Virginia Woolf comprising Grade II listed Georgian town-houses, almost 200 years old. This lends the hotel it’s special character, full of interesting original features, with each room decorated differently, making the stay feel more personal than at a uniform looking modern hotel. The hotel has been with the same family since 1964 and is run by Lucia Geyer together with her three sons, Hans, Stefan, Karl, and daughter Maria-Lisa. We aim to offer a friendly service at great value for money, providing a clean & comfortable home from home; somewhere you can relax and feel welcome, and of course indulge in one of the “best breakfasts in town”, where you can always ask for more.

The hotel is now non-smoking throughout. Guests have the option of cooked or Continental breakfasts served in the hotel's Bloomsbury Coffee House with 10% discount. Please contact Bloomsbury Coffee House for more information on opening times. Please note, the property does not have a lift and guests may be required to carry their luggage to the upper floors. Pets are welcome, but please advise the hotel in advance using the Special Requests section. Please note guests under 18 of age cannot be accepted at the property without adult supervision. The hotel consists of grade II listed Georgian terraced houses that retain original features. Tavistock Place, named after the ground landlord, the Duke of Bedford, Marquess of Tavistock, was built circa 1807, designed by James Burton. The hotel is situated in Bloomsbury, the central, park-filled district famous for it's literary figures such as Charles Dickens and Virginia Woolf's 'Bloomsbury Set', both lived just around the corner on Tavistock Square. Tavistock Place is also home to the original Mary Ward centre, a famous example of Art Nouveau in London, and at No.33 Jerome K. Jerome wrote his famous comedy 'Three Men in a boat'.

From Underground stations: From Russell Square, cross Bernard St. by the pedestrian crossing, walk straight to Marchmont Street, continue for 2 blocks. At Tavistock Place turn left. From Euston Rd: pass the bus stops, cross the park in front of the station, walk down Upper Woburn Place, at Tavistock Place turn left and we are on the right hand side. From King’s Cross/St. Pancras: Walk up Euston Rd (towards Euston station), turn left into Judd St. and then right into Tavistock Place, we are then on the left hand side.
