stones throw from the palace - truly in the heart of london. the rooms, the staff, the dining - everything was absolutely perfect. they have a sister hotel that is literally down the street, it is more expensive and a perhaps a little more grand - but everything is 'modernized' with a blackandwhite motif ... and that hotel uses the restaurants at the rubens for their special packages. From the moment we arrived at the Hotel to the minute that we left, we were treated like the most important people in the establishment. All the staff were polite, helpful and very friendly. I would definitely stay at the Rubens again, our room was recently refurbished and was in excellent condition. The room service was impressive and the food the best I've ever tasted in a hotel.

The breakfast was fantastic, better than we have experienced in the top 5* hotels in the UK. They were happy to serve us food from the menu in the lounge bar after 11.00pm on a Sunday night. What a lovely hotel and such nice people who work there! We loved ourroom (Royal Wing, Prince Regent) we very much appreciated the serviceand kindness. Breakfast was good, great shower, service was all around!Normally we go to another hotel every year, this is the first time I'mconsidering going back to the same hotel.The Hotel was very central located, and we could walk to all the main tourist areas very easily, including the West End. Also the Tube station was very close by and was a main line so could reach everywhere in London fairly quickly. The food was BRILLIANT. The staff were efficient. I would definatly go back again!. We had an awful room at first, then we complained and got the most amazing room with the most amazing safilities. I was disapointed that we got one of the old flowery rooms and not the contempory one we asked for. however the staf were really polite and excelent. always at your call.Upon arrival the reception was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. View on The Mews was great but windows needed to be cleaner to take pictures. Very expensive food and drink in the bar. minor things: room could have been larger, but it had one mirror wall which made it look more spacious, no minibar. London is way too expensive and the Hotel rates are too but that is not the fault of the hotel.No real bad points, you could occasionally hear showers being used in other rooms but this was a very minor irritation.
