The location is absolutely awesome: 2 mins walk from victoria station, right near the victoria coach station where bus arrives from/to stansed (perfect if you fly with low-cost airlines). The breakfast was fair good, nice staff and a 24/24 receptionist always available (I had to ckeck out at 2.00am). The shower was a bit small but with super-hot water, which was awesome, and the bed was really confy, we slept really well.
all reviews » Renovated small hotel, typical London city house with only 25 rooms. Makes you feel a little home! My room was extremely quiet, view to the garden. They have a nice breakfast room, kind of veranda, with a look to the terrace. I definitively come back to this place, situated in a great location. Chelsea, with lots of restaurants and beautiful shops around. Just a couple of minutes walk from Kingsroad. It has a very good location. 10 mins walk from Victoria Stn and a similar distance from Sloane Sq. Underground. Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey etc are also walkable. Breakfast was simple, but excellent: cereals, toast, jam, croissants/ patisseries, cheese, ham, yoghurt, juices and a pot of tea or coffee. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. We liked the size of the room (not big, but bigger than some we have stayed in) & the comfortable bed (wish it was a Queen size) & excellent shower. Also, we liked the location, close to tube & bus to airport, but on a nice, quiet street with several nice restaurants to have dinner after a long day sightseeing. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is central and in a good neighborhood, however you need 5-10 minutes to the nearest Metro. The breakfast is good but nothing special. Our room was quite small, but it was cozy and warm. We visited in December and there were some Christmas decorations, which was nice. The place is near to London centre, close to Victoria Station and the Underground. The room was fine, clean, tidy, with tv and free wifi. Breakfast good service. the location was conveniently within walking distance of Victoria station with access to the gatwick express. the room was bright clean and modern. taxis were readily available nearby could walk to some tourist sites eg buckingham palace or harrods. It's 5 mins walk from London Victoria but you would not realise as its very clean and well looked after area!. the room 302 at Third floor matches exactly picture on web site. Good bedding, nice shower. Location is less than 10 minutes walk from Victoria station, and there are fantastic small high class shops in the street around the corner next to hotel. Very close to Victoria Station, yet a quiet road, even with a front facing room and the window open :) Coffee/Tea and a bottle of water in the room. Clean, Simple, small - perfect for the solo business person for a night or two. The location was very convenient for the tube and Victoria station. The hotel was just a couple if streets away but it was away from the crowds with superb restaurants just around the corner and opposite which were fantastic. You are in zone 1 with a private bathroom inside the room, isn't it enough?. Wifi worked efficiently only in the lobby. Staff seemed complacent about it's inefficiency: the provider's problem/ fault, not theirs. Maintenance in the bedrooms was a bit haphazard: poorly fixed curtain retainers, shower fittings. The rug was not very clean in spite of staff efforts to improve it. The sound isolation is not very good, we could hear people walking on top of us. small stairs to claim, but accettable. No lift. there was no lift which meant climbing narrow stairs. there was no bar or restaurant there was no sitting room the floor of the room sloped. nothing ( I did not try the breakfast). I cannot think of anything negative to say about this hotel or it's location. No ice or refrigeration. There is a market a block away open late but would be nice if hotel had ice machine at least. Shower failed one morning, but was fixed immediately and was only a minor inconvenience. Breakfast room is a bit small, even for a small hotel. Why not try to extend a litlle and use part of the adjacent and charming courtyard?. Our room was dark and on the lower ground floor. The staircase was so steep you could well break your neck. The breakfast was not imaginative. The rack rate is ridiculously high. shower door didn't close properly so we had to put a towel down but that was it really- that one tiny thing. Don't be put off- it really is a lovely hotel!. While the wifi signal was strong there was no access to the Internet for the entire time I was there (3 nights). The staff emailed their service provider but it was restored during my stay. The bed sloped to the right side a bit and left us both with slightly sore backs. As the wife, the lights above the sink are impossible to use for makeup and for us women who need to curl our hair, having to use the outlet in the main room was difficult. One has to stand to see because of the beveling of the mirror when trying to sit. The hotel doesn't have elevator. We were initially offered a small basement room which was not to our liking. Choice for breakfast might be diversified beside a friendly staff. No lift & the stairs were very steep. It was very dangerous with a heavy bag. Only a couple of minor issues: Some trouble controlling water temperature in the sink (it always came on hot). Air conditioning blew directly on us when in bed. The breakfast that hotel provided was pretty tinpot, but considered it's very cheap, I guess it's just like that. Room a bit small. No biscuits for tea and coffee and no earl grey tea. Option of hot breakfast might have been nice. Breakfast could have been a little more organised with more choice. for the money paid I cannot complain..... The beds were too high and a little bit small for two persons in a double room. It would be also nice if there was fresh water in the room, the cooler was only in the breakfast lounge. Poor quality wifi. Room 103 shower door faulty prevented use of shower. Not a thing !. water tended to get too hot, not very easy to regulate. Bed inconveniently far to one side although room was large, possibly on account of wall sockets - this is probably nitpicking, though!. Breakfast could have more options and variability over the days. Also, the ladies that work with the breakfast are not kind at all - but anything was a big problem. could do with a sign post out to say hotel. We were in 302, attic room,which was a little compact and very very warm. Even with the window wide open and cool air coming from the air conditioner it was still too warm. We were in room 301which was at the top of the stairs and with no lift it was too much for my wife who suffers with her legs. Rooms are small so longer stays might be slightly uncomfortable. Matress was far too soft which made sleeping very difficult. I can see what thy want to do with this property and they do it well, but they need to pay more attention to the small details, especially maintenance and cleanliness. If the get on top of a few minor issues they would be faultless. curtain fell off the rail but guy came to fix straight away. it needs a bathroom bench. The details are key. Simple routine maintenance to the rooms could go a long way. From Bathroom faucet handles that were lose to baseboards that needed new paint. Also having an educated staff that personally knows Ebury Street & the surrounding area would be a great help. The guest can equally Google restaurants just as much as the staff can. Breakfast was bland but at least it was included in the price!. Lift. Improvement quality of brea kfast.
