Excellent conditions, nice and quiet, great rooms - not very spacey butone has to keep in mind it's Europe and the hotel is the formerresidence of a former British Lord! Great location: close to Victoriasubway and also within walking distance from both tourist attractions(ex. Buckingham Palace and Westminster) and stylish shopping area(Brompton and Kensington). Very friendly and obliging staff.
all reviews » A truely excellent hotel (luxury townhouse style) that deserves its five star rating. It is a very central yet quiet hotel with loads of charme and friendly, helpful staff. There might be no sauna but our room was furnished with lots of taste and the marble bathroom might have been small but it was always squeakingly clean. The looks and feels of Lord Milner are not very 'hotelish', but more of a BandB. The front office staff tha we came across were excellent, very friendly and cooperative. We were always met with a smile. On the first day, we arrived very early and although we could not be given our room, she arranged for us to use the eash room of a vacant room, served tea and was extremely helpful.Super location - quiet, yet only 2 blocks from Victoria Station. Room was very clean. Included a fridge, which was a great help because restaurants are very expensive. Also included free Coke and water, which is very rare. Didn't like feather quilts - too hot and rustled noisily when you moved. Could hear people walking around a lot in room above during the night. TV in the room was not working. The Duvet was a bit too hot for me, but fraid you cannot get it right for everybody, as I am in the business!. Lighting could be better for putting on make up. Shower/bath water was not comfortably warm. the room is extremely small at the Lord Milner. the cleaning service in the room threw away a shopping bag with some dried fruits and chocolate in it. - rather indiscriminate and lacking in attention on this one point. otherwise all else was really fine. Room and bath were a little small but beautifully clean..No Bar!. It was cold, not enough heaters.Be aware that this is more of a upmarket guest house hotel than a hotel. The 5 stars should be seen in this context. ...in spite of my positive experience, the price is outrageous when converted to USD.Possibly some facilities for alcoholic drinks, and snacks, but this is not really a problem. Thought a little expensive. Room on the small size and cannot see how it can be classed as 5 Star when there is no bar or restaurant or air conditioning although that was in the process of being installed. A bit overpriced for the facilities/size of hotel. To reach the room, I had to go through two consecutive doors whcih are harly accessible. It looks more as the access to a closet. The room was very small. The main lighting didn't work and one lamp in the bathroom was broken too. The bathroom was nicly equipped but so small I couldn't even place my toiletbag in there. Reception closes at 11pm. Although a nice hotel, I wouldn't rank it five stars.The air conditioner was not working throughout our 3 nights' stay. Is this a way to reduce overheads? I find that completely unacceptable from a hotel of this class and the high room rates. Breakfast in room is very expensive at 11 pounds per person. Our room keys kept failing. No A/C - not much of a problem the week we stayed.Seemed as though there was a shortage of tea bags and biscuits as they were only available on the 1st day. After using tea bags and eating biscuits they were not restocked.

Ebury street is a quiet residential street, which is only 5 minutes walk from London Victoria station. Victoria is one the capital’s main London Underground stations and is also a National Rail station.

All executive and deluxe rooms at the Lord Milner include a variety of facilities, such as free broadband internet access and a flat-screen LCD TV with Sky. Every room has its own en suite marble bathroom. A good night's sleep is guaranteed on our 2000 pocket sprung beds and fine linen. Dual voltage power supply is available, with both UK and US connections.

Executive rooms are individually furnished and decorated, in styles ranging from modern contemporary to an African sunset theme. They are approximately 18 m² including the bathroom.

Deluxe rooms offer additional space in which to relax. These are also adorned in varying styles. From the richly traditional to the more sleek and modish, you should find something to suit your tastes. Deluxe rooms are approximately 28 m² (including bathroom).

The garden suite contains a large bedroom with a four-poster bed and a seating area around a cosy gas fireplace. It has an en suite marble bathroom and a spacious adjoining conservatory which serves as a lounge, dining room and kitchen. The conservatory leads onto a pretty, paved garden.

Travelling information

By train:
From Victoria Station:
- Exit the station using the main entrance and then turn left.
- After approximately 50 metres turn left onto Buckingham Palace Road.
- Proceed until you see Eccleston Street, where you turn right.
- Ebury Street is the 2nd street on your left.
- The hotel is located about half way down the street on the left.

By air:
From Heathrow Airport:
- Take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station. The service leaves every 15 minutes and takes 15 minutes.
- From here you can take the underground to Victoria Station, and follow the directions outlined above.

- National Express coaches which run to Victoria Coach Station.
- From here, exit via the main entrance and turn left onto Elizabeth Street.
- Take the 2nd right onto Ebury Street.
- The hotel is situated approximately half way down the street, on your right.

- The Piccadilly Line connects Heathrow with Victoria Station. Allow at least 45 minutes for this option.

From Gatwick Airport:
- Take either the Gatwick Express or any Southern Train Service to Victoria Station.
- From here, follow the directions outlined above.

Alternatively, the hotel can arrange a chauffeur service to collect you from either airport. You will be met at the arrivals gate and driven to the hotel. This service must be arranged in advance. Prices will vary, please contact the hotel for more information.
