Unforgettable fabulous stay in London Thanks to letsbookhotel.com, I have been fortunate enough to stay at The Hotel Strand Continental for an affordable price, during my recent trip to London. The Hotel Strand Continental is located at a privileged point, in London’s west end; 2 steps far from King’s College London, very near from The River Thames through Waterloo Bridge, in addition to some of the most important sightseeing attractions such as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, Sa.
all reviews » Location! Right next to Somerset House. 5 min walk to Temple underground tube. No frills but no unexpected nasty bits. Tea/coffee in room, towels provided, there was clean bedding. Breakfast was good, cereal, toast, juice and tea and coffee as much as you'd like. There was stairs but we didn't mind. We arrived at 10am and our room had already been cleaned so we were told to go straight in. Lovely. Would stay here again. The Strand Continental is in a prime location for any theatre trip. The rooms are clean and tidy with electricity points so that charging my phone over night was no a problem. The shared bathroom facilities were extremely clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the cost was very reasonable. For the money the location is priceless. Reception staff were great. Dont go thinking for £55.00 and staying near the Savoy that its the same, it isn't. Its convenient, clean and warm. If you want another pillow ASK!. All in all great job see you again soon. It was amazing stay at Strand, it was 5 minutes of walk in the real city (Trafalgar square...) and it was really cosy and nice. Some time other guest are not respect in night and make noise as well which create disturb in your sleep. -some dust in the room and untidy floor in the corners(but bathrooms and toilets very clean) -climbing up on 6th floor(no lift). - the room to the street is noisy. The room face the road are kind of noisy. carrying the luggage three flights of stairs was not fun. Breakfast is poor. Lack of lift but we knew that before we went and it wont stop us going again. The stairs are too steep and no lift provided but I don't expect much for the money you pay.I could not find anything negative. Poor mattress quality!. It was fine for me but just be aware that there is no elevator and is more of a hostel than a hotel. Cold showers. No wifi in my room. Old facilities. My daughters would say the breakfast. many flies, heating facilities didn't work. Shower. hair on bed. no lift. toilets not always work. Not very secure locks on individual rooms (little thumb lock is all). Clean sheets but had to make beds ourselves. Dodgy shower on 4th floor. Staff not ridiculously friendly or overly helpful. BUT you really can't complain as it's so cheap and in such a great location and it's clean. Internet service was spotty, I stayed in a room for 4 guests and it was too small for 4. Continental breakfast did not feature many items. First of all, don't expect a standard hotel lobby. Reception is up a narrow flight of steps and behind a glass door. Especially after dark it feels rather dodgy. Very basic hostel in old building, toilets not nice, non-insulated window, ugly ceiling light in room. Very uncomfortable mattress but at least the cover was warm. Not recommendable if you are used to relative comfort but fine if you desperately need a place to stay for a night or two (or really can't afford any more at all). The corridor is very narrow so I do not think you can carry big luggage with you. Although the safety is good enough because of the giant iron door downstairs, you must be very carefully when you push it. I hurt my fingers when I first push it because the doorknob is too close to the door edge. You do not have WIFI in your room, and you have to go to the Bar if you want to use it. Several doors close heavily. Step up & down due to high rise on 5 floor without lifted by heavy duty luggage to cabin trolley. The bathroom and shower are outside the bedroom. There is wifi connection just in the first floor (breakfast lounge). The facililites were limited and the toilets weren't overly nice. Often had water all over the floor. The door didn't lock. Cramped and stuffy rooms, lack of hot water, dodgy bedsheets. The carpet didn't appear to have been hoovered in the room. When we arrived at breakfast we had to clear the tables ourselves before we could eat. I am sure it was safe but the door to the room appeared to be flimsy and I was travelling alone with my 7 year old son and I did feel quite vulnerable. One of the bathrooms on the top floor was great and updated, but the other was poor quality. Update the other bathroom!. Noise at night from other guests Steep stairs. The constant noise from doors slamming. (Throughout the night). And guests on the 5th floor where I was staying, smoking in the two tiolets available repeatedly. The lack of the lift. It was very difficult for me to take my luggage on the fifth floor. Bathrooms and loos a bit grotty and cold tap didn't work on the shower, but hey you get what you pay for and I slept like a baby despite a party of 37 kids sharing tbe corridor!.
