The hotel was close to the tube and several museums and shops. The hotel staff, especially Lawrence, were very helpful about getting around, etc. The staffs are very very friendly and helpful. They are probably the most welcoming people we met in London..The hotel was very clean, the staff was excellent, and it is located in a great part of the city. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, I was able to have early check in which was helpful. good location, friendly and helpful staff, great value for money, although just like most London hotels the rooms were not huge.The location was perfect for the Royal Albert Hall and other great London venues. Very pleasant welcome and breakfast. Clean and modern room / decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was quiet and very large compared to other hotel rooms at comparable price in London.we ordered a pot of tea and paper in the morning which was complementary. Convenience of location to the Royal Albert Hall and Harrods.Rooms were OK as were staff and the 'feel' of the place. the size of the room, the friendliness of the staff. Very good location for Albert Hall, Hyde Park and the Natural History Museum. I was surprised to see abundant meter parking in the road outside, although we didn't have a car. Nice environment and room was sizeable and comfortable. We would stay again. Nice part of London.Good and friendly service - excellent staff is a big plus. location cleanliness. The location and tube connections were good. No, everything was great!. The bed was a little bit hard, but that was the only negative. the only real downside was that the lift only goes as far as the 2nd floor, so anyone on higher floors had a bit of a treck to their room, which in todays health concious atmosphere could also be regarded as a good thing!. Smoke detector went off twice during the night / early morning. I arrived home late to realise that there were no tea / coffee making facilities and no ability to order these. Whilst bottled water was provided, I felt that tea / coffee making facilities would have resulted in a more enjoyable stay. These facilities have been standard, in my experience, in less presentable establishments.Several rooms, including the one we stayed in, were in the basement and it was not possible to see the sky, leading to a somewhat claustrophobic feeling. As mentioned by other reviewers, there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. For a hotel at this level, I would have expeced the minibar to be full, but there were only two cans of cola. there was re-furbishment going on which resulted in a lot of noise in our room from 8am. Please, please improve the breakfast - I don't like sitting on a sofa with a bread roll a croissant and a packet of cornflakes as my only choice. need renovation, stained curtains, old fashioned bathroom. We would have appreciated coffee making facilities in the room. Not everything worked - eg bedside lamp. Telephone power adaptor held together with sticky tape. poor facilities - shower leaking all the time (with water dropping noise at night which oculd not fixed though i stayed there for 3 nights - very annoying)

Travelling information
From Heathrow Airport: Join the m4 (from the m25) at junction 4, near West Drayton (signed Heathrow Airport). Continue for approximately 8 miles following the signs for London city centre. After 5 miles the m4 becomes the a4, then Cromwell Road. You will pass Tesco's, the Cromwell Hospital and Sainsburys, all on the left consecutively. Continue towards the city centre, crossing over Gloucester Road, then take the next left into Queen's Gate. The hotel is number 54 on the left after about 80 metres.
You can park in the central spaces for up to 2 hours with the parking meter. Long-stay car parking is close by and the hotel staff will assist you with directions.
Alternatively, take the Piccadilly Underground Line (dark blue) to Gloucester Road or South Kensington station.
From Gatwick Airport: Take the M23 (signed for the M25 North/Heathrow) for around 3 miles, then take the slip road off for the M25 Heathrow. Continue for approximately 19 miles on the M25, then take the M4 for Heathrow and London city centre. From here continue with the directions as above.
Alternatively you can take the Gatwick Express train or coach. Both modes of transport arrive at Victoria station.
From Victoria Station: Take the District or Circle Line Underground (green or yellow) from Victoria, either 2 stops to South Kensington or 3 stops to Gloucester Road - the latter is the closer to the hotel. Alternatively, a taxi will cost around 7 GBP.
On foot from South Kensington or Gloucester Road Tube station: South Kensington Station: Leave the station from the north exit, then turn left into Harrington Road. Turn right into Queen's Gate, carry on up, then cross over Cromwell Road (Natural History Museum is on your right as you look straight ahead). The hotel is 50 metres on the left-hand side.
Gloucester Road Station: Exit the station on the left (on the left is Waitrose supermarket). At the traffic lights cross over and turn right, walking down Cromwell Road. At the next traffic lights turn left, walking into Queen's Gate (Baden Powell House is on your left on the corner of Cromwell and Queen's Gate.)
