The staff were excellent and the hotel had a pleasant ambience, particularly like the complementary soft drinks in the lounge. The staff were just so caring. It is somewhere that my wife and I will stay at again,. Great traditional hotel near all main attractions esp Albert Hall. The service and standards in general were excellent.the staff were wonderful, very polite and willing to help. The food was amazing, although I feel breakfast couldve been included in the price of the room. However, that aside, we had a lovely weekend, and will recommend to friends. Hopefully staying again ourselves one day.

There are framed pictures everywhere (seascapes, landscapes, still life and portraits) and our luxury double room, although small, had its fair share of pictures. Its location (a two-minute walk to see Mark Knopfler at the Royal Albert Hall) is its big selling point - and the cheeriness of its staff who were very welcoming. Great position for the Royal Albert Hall. Interesting decor in the hotel and bar. The small choice of meals in the bistrot. Nothing only wished we could have stayed longer. Not much drawer space, no trouser press and no face cloth in the bathroom. Room was a little smaller than expected. It had a balconey which could have a small table where you could have breakfast or room service. no tea making facilities so we had to ring room service for a cup of tea both in the afternoon and in the morning which was a bit incovenient and also cost us £12!!. Breakfast was slightly expensive. I was very disappointed that the hotel had not contacted me the morning of our reservation to inform us of the change. Arriving at our destination to find a change was not pleasing.tea and coffee facilities not available in room. No parking. room was rather dusty, although clean otherwise. The room was too small!! and the closet where so small that you could not put anything inside!. Slow service in Bistro. The room we had was right at the top of the hotel and given the age and style of the hotel made us think of being in the servants quarters! It was tiny, had very little room for storage. Although beautifully decorated and clean the plumbing left a lot to be desired. The shower was so weak we ended up washing our hair in the sink and the water in both sink taps were hot.Rooms were just a littel to small, but i suppose this also has to do with the "style" and atmosphare of thsi hotel. my shower kept turning itself off!. Rooms very small. but it was smelling cigarettes because of climatisation.Small bedroom on fourth floor. Comfort, range of services for a 5* hotel. Ensuite bathroom a little dated and water temperature very difficult to control -shower varied from burning hot to icy cold. labels on shower wrong way round - caused us a delay, some stress and an almost scald!. There was no kettle or tea making facilities, which is the norm.I Foundthe bedding inadequate-one thin duvet!-in a hotel of this price, I wascold! There were no blankets! The duvet did not cover the bed!. Very small room on the fifth floor, lift went only until the fourth floor, not a problem but not what you expect from a five star hotel.Lack of facilities within the room which would have enabled us to make a cup fo tea furthr compounded by the fact that when we requested a late night simple sandwich we found that this was not possible. Unbelievable!. very small rooms , very dirty, full of dust , old and in a bad shape. Reception staff not very informative. No WiFi - allegedly a problem with the provider but there were severaldifferent stories. Poorly maintained room, despite highlighting the factto staff. Worst feature: dirty bathroom; totally unacceptable. Poor service, ridiculously small room, lack on facilities and very poorroom services.
