After reading the reviews,we didnt have high expectations but for us we just wanted a place to put downs our heads for the 2nights we were there.But i have to say the room was immaculate and was way above our expectations. We were right over the three sisters pub but the noise didnt bother us.I would highly recommend it to students or anyone up for the nightlife there. Awsome stay, definatly will come back next time we're up!! awsome atmosphere.
all reviews » I liked the location, Edinburgh was very accessible from Tailors Hall. The hotel is in a great location alot of bars and nightlife nearby. It was within easy access to the main tourist attractions. As the weather was bad, we enjoyed the bar next door, and being able to eat there, instead of going in search of a restaurant.it was close to all the good pubs and clubs,and the 3 sisters pub was ace. GREAT LOCATION, friendly place!. location, price and service. Handy to City centre. Very nice hotel, close to city center. Nice service. Free access to a broadband int a rooms. Recommendable. Pub at the first floor. Good for young people.closeness to edinburgh's many attractions. Convenient location to nightlife. Genral decor of the hotel is a little tired and could do with a bit of a re-vamp. Very rowdy on Saturday night,(but we knew this as we have stayed before, I wouldn't reccomend this hotel to older travellers or people who find it hard to sleep). The place could do with a bit of a tidy-up as signs of age and abuse are starting to show and could spoil for some what could be a very nice Hotel.Our room was a bit shabby. The curtains were faded, there were holes in the walls where pictures had been taken down. There were doorknobs missing from the wardrobe and bathroom cabinet. These are little things, but it's the little things that make a difference. It took me some time to look for it. The street is small. The room was not quiet.Shabby, in need of an overhaul, paper coming off walls, just lookedgruby and old every where tv did not work wires hanging out in bathroompoor lighting. The fitted hair dryer was faulty, and a replacement one that had been put in the room also had a problem with it, this was easily rectified by staff and wouldn't have been a problem if a previous occupant of the room had reported it.Noise from the three sisters pub. Dining room was or is very dark. hotel decor/carpets are very tired but found the staff very helpfull. Corridors ponged a bit (Camembert on 3rd floor, stale wee on first floor). Hotel guests asked for age ID before being allowed to purchase drinks, which was unexpected (the Three Sisters venue is separate to Tailors Hall), meant I couldn't buy my daughter a drink - minor issue, but unexpected.Beds, size of rooms. the corridors smelt of cooked sausages and the music in the pub below went on really late. The breakfast wasn't very good- the sausage lay on my stomach for a while. There was also a loud "domestic" in the corridor at about 2am. Rooms could do with general maintenance, replace broken tiles and freshen up bed linen.the room was less than desirable for the money. No attached car parking. breakfast not included, hotel bedroom decore, needed new pillows and matress and a lick of paint. room not clean. Way too noisy. Room tiny. Ridiculously understaffed. Something could be done about the beds, very small and uncomfortable.TV didn't work.. One plug socket was not enough. The cleaning staff were rude, and need to go and learn how to clean, my bathroom needed a deep clean. and the shower wasn't very invigorating. . The general standard of clenliness and decor was v poor .Smell of urine in the lift and on 3rd floor. The breakfast was good but service by waitress was poor dishes were not cleared at all while we were sitting at table( though she was pleasant ).Probably everything. It's unclean, shabby, old, the carpets are dirty and disgusting and the whole thing could do with a make over! It's just awful!. room and common spaces cleanliness 9windows, bathrooms, coridors, elevator). Very dirty and smelly room. Heating is out of order. Bedding wasn't changed during 4 nights. the noise, cleanliness, poor state of the FandF, TV did not work, cups were filthy, i could go on !!!!.
