Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was a bother to them. Apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly want or need, right down to the little extra touches of milk in the fridge and a very informative and useful welcome pack. Loved the style of the apartment. Great facilities and very comfortable. Great location. Overall, we had a fantastic time and hope to return sometime soon. Can't recommend highly enough.
all reviews » This facility is ideal for a multiple night stay. With full kitchen, bath, and laundry facilities in a luxury apartment setting, it was an ideal home-away-from-home getaway. The value of the apartment was far greater than that of a hotel room in our opinion. The staff was helpful in every way and the amenities provided were excellent. It is close to the bus lines and also easy to walk to many of the lovely places in Leith and Edinburgh. We were greeting by a very polite helpful young man who checked us in and showed us to our room, asked if we needed anything and left us to it. The apartment was fantastic! We couldn't have asked for more, exceptional! We enjoyed everything single second of our weekend. The information pack that was available was full of very helpful advice especially the taxi company. We were very impressed. The apts were exactly as good as all the reviews said. The location was great. We could go right out of our apt and get on a bus to take us to the city central. We walked to the tesco to get groceries. The little pub down the street had good food. We would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend the Oak Hill apts. Everything about Oakhill was superb! Modern, trendy, comfortable, welcoming. Location was great and the facilities were fantastic. The beds were so comfortable I even had a look at what type of linen they used! Friendly staff too. Small balcony gave us outside space on a lovely sunny day. The location was perfect for us because we were doing the Moonwalk and we literally had a 5 minute walk to the start of the walk. Bedroom was slightly cramped when using a travel cot. However, we were upgraded before arrival to a 2 bedroom apartment to give us more room, which was very kind and much appreciated. Nothing!. Just a very small thing.. the shower gel was limited and very hard to get out of the tiny bottle they gave you. Apart from that, everything was perfect. Sound proofing was not very good. Generally we found it a bit noisy, banging front door and loud conversations in the car parking area,. There was nothing we didn't like. We were only there for a night but had no problems whatsoever. the squeaky floors in some parts of the apartment do occasionaly get on your nerves,but hey lets not get picky. No downside at all. Nothing - would stay there again if visiting Edinburgh in the future. Nothing. Water was pouring down the front of the entrance to building upon arrival - did get fixed though. No window in one of the bathrooms. No hook on back of bathroom doors. No shelf in en-suite. Window in en-suite wasn't tiled so water from shower has caused paint to peel and mould is beginning to appear in one of the corners. It is not situated at the heart of the city and cleaning of the apartment happens only a few days of the week , not everyday.... Nothing, would go back in a heartbeat. There were a couple of minor things where attention to detail had been overlooked but management were keen to rectify. We loved evverything. Can't fault this place. Not soundproof... can tell it is a wood frame building and could hear every step taken in unit above... very beautiful place that needs a little bit of freshening up like some walls repainted. Could notget the cloths dryer to work and the heater in the appartment not to turn on. Area is a bit dreary but ok. For the excellent standard of the apartments (ie luxury) , the shower unit wasn't really in keeping. This is a niggle and not a complaint. The location that was quite far from cith centre. A bit hard to get on a bus or find a taxi. Especially at night. Nothing. There was nothing I did not like about the Apartments it was exactly as described on the photos I viewed on the internet. Nothing, it was very good self contained accommodation. The Only Thing we kind of didn't like was the master bedroom had a double bed instead of a Queen or a King Bed. None. Did not receive the welcome hamper stated. Sleeps 4, sits 4 at table, sits 3 for TV watching - a minor point but noticed as all else so good. noisy people above, kids running around the apartment screaming at 1 am in the morning- some places not cleaned ie cooker hood greasy on the sides. Very minor things: put something on the keys so you know which is which and maybe provide some basic condiments (self catering I know but hard to travel with cooking oil, sauces). Was a bit cold at certain points of the day. Kitchen worktop was damaged above dishwasher and cobwebs on light shades.
