What people say
sphThis hotel was ideally located. Withing walking distance of Millenium stadium (purpose of our visit). was a pleasure to walk into such a comfortable, bright and pleasant bed room. The staff were most obliging, friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was substantial, varied and tasty. It is great that there is parking adjacent to hotel. Have stayed in a few Mercure hotels now, including Carcassonne and Cologne and cannot fault this chain of hotels. This is definately my favourite chain. As for the Holland House in Cardiff i was a fantastic experience, with great facilities and lovely rooms! 10 out of 10!. all reviews »
We stayed on the 11th Floor overlooking the City. It was a very spacious room, the staff were very friendly and co-operative even after we weren't ready on time for our first taxi. Lovely Spa facilities too. 1) Reception staff were very professional and helpful 2) Hotel provided a free upgrade to a superior room 3) Parking under the hotel was clean and secure with easy access to hotel reception. Massive windows which allowed you to have a panoramic view of all of Cardiff. The hotel is also very classy looking, but at the same time is very welcoming. It was in a perfect location for the city. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were to a high standard with nice views over the city.used swimming pool, gorgeous breakfast, fantastic, huge, hot bath, were both of us could get in and share! that was fab!!. Well positioned, great friendly staff, great view of city, sizeable rooms, large bathroom with seperate bath and shower.i loved everything about mercure holland house hotel it was a fab weekend loved chilling in pool and jazuzzi and sauna. Could not believe the low cost on LetsBookHotel.com for such a good hotel. It by far surpassed the Marriott ! !. very central to town, spa facilties, space in rooms with the little extras - ironing board, music system etc. We thought the hotel was excellent, staff too - polite, very helpful, and the facilities were 1st class. Large room and proximity to central Cardiff and Millennium Stadium. We had a thporoughly enjoyable weekend - everything was very good.Great view from 10th floor, room well-equipped. Great views from the room across the bay...helpful staff and excellent facilities. xcellent rooms and very good staff. everything. the views are amazing. nice considerate staff in the spa. Fantastic view from 14th floor. Absolutely everything. They loved Everything. a fantastic location. Exceptional curtesy. Great room / view. Everything. This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Mercure Holland in Cardiff. Ihave only good things to say. Lovely rooms, friendly helpful staff, excellent location for shopiing, the arena and the stadium. great position within walking distance of city centre - excellent and helpful staff - very good breakfast - better than some 5* hotels we have stayed in - good size rooms and comfortable bed. The warmth and friendliness of all staff and the attention to detail they delivered on made the stay special. The facilities and food were first rate. The fantastic views from the room were the icing on the cake, a really welcoming and stylish hotel with everything we needed on hand. Clean, tidy, accommodating, very comfortable well presented bedrooms. Sadly didn't have time to enjoy the lovely looking spa.Very clean, hotel staff very friendly. Close proximity to the citycentre. Really nice food in the restauant. Friendly and helpful staff. Proximity to city centre. Comfort of hotel. Parking facility.the facilities were excellent, and the views over the city were fantastic. The staff were very helpful, the room was lovely. Spa was good.Went to concert in evening, and shopping during the day. Very luxurious - fabulous room and very freindly staff.good location and very friendly and efficient staff. The professionalism of all the staff I encountered. location; nice room and excellent breakfast!. Excellent value for money and a great room. The staff, the large room and the location. Smart clean nice room good staff. Use of the pool etc. Easy walk into city. homely. the hotel was close to town, we upgraded very cheaply, staff excellent, room service quick, housekeeping a little lazy, not clearing dirty towels /trays from outside the room till requested one afternoon, but bar prices good, spa treatments excellent, very relaxed friendly hotel.Great location (10min walk from bars and restaurants), the hotel itself is of a very high standard, the Spa was great, and the toilet seat was very comfortable ;-). Dressing gowns and slippers wouldn't go a miss to go to the spa in.Breakfast buffet choice was plentiful but hot food was hard/stale from having sat for so long (we arrived towards the end of the breakfast window), so arrive early for breakfast!. the temp of the swimming pool, quite low and jets didnt work on jacuzzi, little bit of a let down as both of us were looking forward to relaxin the enxt morning, in it before a long drive home!. As is the case nowadays, not having breakfast included as standard is not good. Spa/pool very busy, which shows it's well used, but not a "relaxing" atmosphere. i havent got a bad word to say about mercure holland house hotel. disappointed jacuzzi not working, food in bar on the expensive side. Car park expensive and lucky to find room to park.No. However, we chose not to eat in the restaurant as we felt that the menu was rather expensive with a menu that was too fancy for our tastes. We ate out in Cardiff. Perhaps some simpler, cheaper options on the menu would be a good idea?. The food seems to have dropped in standard...we had to have mash with our room service curry as they had no rice, and the room service breakfast was cold when delivered...a shame as the hotel is great. additional parking charges, also car park full one evening due to wedding booking . Lack of parking spaces. The fruit selection for breakfast was not good and what was there looked as if it had been around for days, black and shrivelled. Not good. a minor irritation was that due to the location of the the spa and swimming pool we could not access this in dressing gowns from our room and we had to use the spa changing rooms and lockers. When we complained to reception about the heating in the room, nothing was done about it. no bed for my 5 year old - had to sleep with us.Car park is small and was often full. The charge to park at the hotel. No one told me about it even when they took my car reg. So I was somewhat surprized when It was added to the bill.I was disapointed when i was told i could not have a massage and was not told you had to book it a few days before. Really thats why we wanted to stay there for because i work in a school and it was a part of our hunnymoon we got married on the 8th so we wanted to relax, and that sort of put a downer on things but we still enjoyed the stay. Parking. noisey shower drainage. having to pay for the car park. The Jacuzzi was STILL out of order as read in a previous review and the breakfast charges were extortionate - £27.90 for two people and even more if you wanted it delivered to your room.
The gym also needs more free weights.
