Unsure about booking after reading some reviews, but chose the hotel because of the location to the CIA. Worries were unfounded. Room was comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Maybe a little warm but a fan was provided. Breakfast gave an excellent choice.Although busy service was very good,dirty dishes did not stay long on the table and staff ensured you had what you needed. room very clean and tidy,very quiet so we got a good nights sleep,food very nice,excellent location for C.I.A,and for shops etc.hotel also held our luggage all day until eveninig after checking out.

This hotel is situated between the site we are working on and the offices we work in - so is ideally located.There are good parking facilities at the hotel and in the adjacent NCP car park. The hotel is slap bang in the town centre without the noise of some others. As a bonus it's right beside the Cineworld cinema, great for if it's raining.There was a French Gentlemen on reception who was absolutely excellent - I checked in slightly early and he found me a cleaned room with no fuss at all. Everything however we did not have any meals The laddie on duty Wed evening was very helpful when we wanted extra beverages.I was very impressed at how clean the hotel was, at all times of theday. No range of beers there. I would look to drink a locally based drink, but all that was available was 'boddingtons beer' which is a little boring. The Welsh 'Brains' beer would have been wonderful had it been available.Prices seem to vary enormously - I have paid £105 for the same room I paid £80 for and think that £80 for a single person staying in a room was a little excessive. Parking at the hotel is not free. It cost £8.60 per day.No radio in the room We did not put our towels out every day but they still got taken Quality of toilet paper poor!!!!. No, everything was great.Diificult to find due to Cardiff's unusual oneway system! Too many flat screen TVs in foyer and bar (not easy to have a quiet chat). Orange juice in morning was watery but otherwise breakfast was good. on arrival, the staff were going to charge me £198 for the room instead of the £80 on reservation. this was ammended once i showed my booking documents (but have forgotten these doc's in the past-so don't know if they would have made the amendment otherwise?) also, when getting ready to enter my pin for the card payment, the total was £88.60 instead of £80. when i questioned this they had automat. We could hear quite a lot of road noise in our room, also it was very warm and constantly smelt of food, even though we hadn't eaten in the room!!. bar prices a little high.confusion over booking by staff. It was a comfortable but was kept awake by a buzzing noise most nights. I preferred the layout and services at the hotel before you made the improvements in the last year. the hotel overall was very good. the only point was the room shower,which only adjusted from very warm to scalding hot (which my partner accidentally found out to her cost). A bit pricey. Despite electric heater, bedroom not quite warm enough.May sound rather trivial but the position of the plug sockets in the room are too low and so I couldn't plug in my hair drier or straighteners. Although a hair drier was provided in the room but I like my own. Apart from above comment, reception area was draughty.
