The Viking Hotel offers comfortable accommodation and live entertainment in its exciting cabaret venue. This adults only hotel is located on South Promenade, a short walk from the shops and markets, and just 10 minutes' walk from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. An all-you-can-eat breakfast and new buffet-style evening dinner can be enjoyed in the refurbished sea-view restaurant. Guests can also buy snacks and drinks in the café bar, or enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the cocktail bar, with free Wi-Fi access. Each bedroom offers a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have private bathroom and some also have scenic sea views. The Viking has space for free parking on site. South Pier and Sandcastle Waterworld are almost opposite the building, and guests can also use the leisure facilities at the Viking's sister hotels for free. Please note that the hotel does not accept anyone under the age of 18 years.

It was turkey and tinsel week (we were unaware when we booked). Comfort was excellent, food was brilliant, table served and a different menu every day with a choice of 5 starters, main courses and deserts. Entertainment in the evening was great and got everyone involved. Also had coach trips included in the price to shopping venues and mecca bingo. 95% of other residents were active pensioners.

No mention of all the stairs after using lift from one floor to another. parking was bad getting in and out. only leaving time could be 11.00am. reception could do with brighting up , but good staf and clean just decor a little dull. Too many steps. Bathroom size, could be a bit bigger.

Dining at the Viking is an experience in itself. Our beautiful sea view restaurant opens daily for breakfast and dinner. Start the day with a full English breakfast accompanied by fruit juices, cereals and all the toast you need. Each evening our chef Andy, who has 20 years service with Choice Hotels, prepares a delightful 3 course table d'hôte dinner with plenty of choice at each course. For all day long snacks and beverages in pleasant surroundings, simply head for the Café Bar.

The Viking hotel is situated in the heart of Blackpool's busy South Promenade. It is a short stroll from the many shops and markets of Waterloo Road, where you can pick up a bargain or do some early Christmas shopping.

South Pier and Sandcastle Waterworld are almost opposite, while the Pleasure beach is a 15 minute stroll away.

Regular trams and buses run along the promenade taking you to attractions further afield such as St Annes and Fleetwood. For your convenience you can purchase your travel ticket from the hotel's reception.

Travelling information

By Car:
- Follow the M55 towards Blackpool; at the end you will come to a roundabout.
- Drive straight across onto Yeadon Way and continue across the 1st mini roundabout and past the Yeadon Way pub (on your left).
- At the 2nd mini roundabout turn right and at the 3rd mini roundabout bear left, continuing to the junction and turn left onto Waterloo Road.
- Heading down Waterloo Road, go straight across the traffic lights and continue until you reach the 2nd set of lights.
- At these lights turn left onto the promenade.
- The Viking Hotel is on the left towards the end of the second block.
