We had a lovely stay, informed the reception that a couple of lightbulbs had blown in the room on our way out on the first morning, by the time we returned at lunchtime they had been replaced already!. The hotel in general was excellent in every aspect and the staff were polite and attentive to every need. Selection available at breakfast was also second to none.We were visiting Blackpool to attend The Pigeon Show of the Year at the Winter gardens onSaturday 24 Jan and the 25th Jan.

I was told by Emma, one of the receptionists that as the hotel was full on this particular evening but that we would be moved the next day and that there would be no charge. Wonderful service. The openess of the entrance. Breakfast. Position. The spa. the breakfast was very good. Most of the staff were friendly apart from one particular member of the reception team. Breakfast. Staff. Courteous staff, excellent breakfast. The bed was massive. facilities. Nothing, excellent stay!. We were there out of season, so there was no entertainment on elsewhere that weekend. it would ve been nice to have some live entertainment on for guests to enjoy..as weather was too bad for us to go looking elsewhere.I found myself in bed early!. room a little too hot. One small thing the swimming pool was closed on the sunday morning 16march that was one of the reasons we selected the hotel but we willstill use the hotel ..yours faithfully ..mrand mrs P. hedison. price of drinks in hte hotel bar. the room was old fashiond. Room was very warm, even thought the heater was turned off. The window did open but didn't provide much ventilation as it opened into a light well. The window sill was also covered in a layer of bird muck. The food was fair, choice was limited for families with teenage chidren who do not want to eat meat and veg.Didn't appear to be any disabled parking,. our room was horrible.clean and tidy,but not a nice room.the bathroom was very poor,not what you expect.the decor hasn't moved forward from the 1930's and 40's. We really liked the period features, but some aspects needed a bit of a clean, e.g. the stained glass skylight in the bar was a bit grubby.room was fine but the wooden windows are falling apart. All staff lovely. Waiting on staff could have been more attentive!. The location of our rooms overlooking the back of the hotel. First roomwas very hot and smelled of the kitchen, they quickly moved us but wewere still facing the back of the hotel. The room was much cooler thanthe first but still got quite warm and stuffy.To hot in the rooms. very poor with tea bags and milk in room. it was quite late when we arrived and we couldn't get parked. due to the new year eve's ball. The cleanliness didn't match the rating of the hotel. there was dust behind the tv. Dirt around the plughole in the bath. the hotel could have been a bit more generous with coffee and tea sundries. The light didn't work in the dressing room. Very small bathroom hard to use toilet. They took no notice of the rate that I had agreed with yourselves and tried to over charge me by over £120 per room for the three nights. The girl on reception was rude and wouldn't look into the problem. I had to prove this was the rate I had agreed . I find it hard to believe that they had the booking from yourselves and not the price agreed. Very small bathroom. Rattling bedroom window, insufficent desk space to work in the room. Poor room decor. General areas and corridoors smelly. Lots of dampin room and in general areas. Room very hot, extremeley dirty windows, loose light fitting. the quality of the room and hotel (although probably the best hotel in Blackpool) was not good value for money. I have travelled extensively for both business and pleasure and was disappointed that the cost was not equalled by the quality of the hotel and its staff.Room in need of refurbishment and a good clean, bathroom very small and many minor faults with the room. Problems at checkout being charged full rack rate and not the booked discount rate - easily corrected.
