If you are searching for an excellent B&B for your trip to Bangor, stay at the Shelleven Guest House. The owners, Philip and Mary, are classy four star people. For any questions we had about the area, they knew or found the answers. We were treated very specially, but were given our space in the guest house. Breakfasts were served elegantly in the cozy dining area --any breakfast and beverage could be had on any morning. The guest house is located on a quiet road, well decorated, and extrem.
all reviews » My friend and I spent 4 nights at Shelleven Guest House. We found it to be comfortable and well-appointed, with a delicious breakfast menu. The owners, Mary and Phillip, couldn't have been more accommodating ... they even drove us to the train station when we left. The location is excellent, and we enjoyed the walk along the seaside promenade to restaurants for dinner so lovely ... a highlight of our stay in Ireland. Mary and Phillip are so lovely and helpful, you feel like home or being a guest at one of your relative's, extremely clean an well organised house. Room and bathroom are recently refurbished, we had a lovely room with seaview :) breakfast was home made and delicious! Thank you so much for having us we will definitely come back! It was easy to find, had great parking and was walking distance from an excellent restaurant. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff genuinely really nice. We had a great room with a nice view. The staff was friendly. We especially appreciated the proximity to the town, boardwalk with good restaurants. We had a wonderful meal at the Salty Dog recommended by Mary at Shelleven. For us; the Shelleven was a great choice for a weekend stay to attend a family wedding. Phillip & Mary were a wonderful couple and made our stay first class. It is by far the best Hotel we have "ever" used. Warm welcome and excellent hospitality. Close to the harbour. Comfortable and well-appointed room. Excellent breakfast. Easy parking. Informed advice from owners regarding the town and area.
