Excellent rural location with a high standard of accommodation, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and good cuisine. It was handy to find and the wedding we attended took place there so no taxis to worry about etc. quick check in and check out service... we were able to extend our check out time to 12 and receive room service for breakfast at time we requested.the location was great and the executive suite was very comfortable and worth the extra cash probably the nicest hotel room i have stayed in. Gents loos by reception/bar area... watch out out if you use the cubicles, they are a bit cramped. I got bitten by the looroll holder, and I'm not as fat as some :-). The restuarant menu like so many hotels goes overboard on fancy food and has nothing very plain, although the meal was very nice I did think it was rather expensive. I stay regfularly and the food is always very good. However I had theribs for the first time last week and they were compleetly spoilt by thesauce which meant neither I nor my colleague who had the same eatvirtually anything. Much better to have normal barbeque sauce and nottry anything out of the oridnary !. Car park entrance a little confusing - needs clearer signposting to hotel. No mobile phone signal available in the rooms. loud tv in breakfast room. Breakfast was "warm" rather than "hot". The spring action on the doors: far too strong, especially when you're carrying a baby around. I booked an executive room and thought it wud've been a bit bigger. There wasn't a lot of room to walk round the bed.Staff at breakfast seemed to be either slow or the dining room was understaffed. The latter I think was the case. The Executive suite was very disapointing cold and the bed was two single beds pushed together which kept separating. The iron was not in a usable condition. To discover that if we had booked direct with the hotel the two night stay for 3 persons (2 rooms) for 2 nights woukd have been £98 pp including evening meal. Total price paid through your reservation including one evening meal was over £650. No heating in room pm and am. Cold coffee at breakfast. No TV/Skysports in Bar; would not use again for that reason !!. Some of the staff were abrupt (not all), noisy guests were not asked to consider other guests and the facilities were limited.
