The location near the railway station, Topkapi and Hagia Sofia was really good. The hotel is not the largest (in any sense) but the service was generally impeccable. Breakfast was good and the small baths in the basement section a delight. Nicely done rooms. close to attractions with fabulous staff and comfortable clean accommodation. many thanks for a wonderful stay and my birthday cake.

The doorman who see you out at the taxi agree with him how to cheat you on price.....he knew we had just 40 turkish lira and the driver asked ofr that but the normal tariff is around 25 lira. Taxi driver in istanbul are often cheating ...watch out. room door was not closing, not safe lights was not working hotel is very bad. Our room was quite narrow. The bar in the lobby was not manned but one had to ask bell boy or find a waiter.Hotel arranged a tazi - who tried to rip us off (the taxi driver) - all worked out but i think they should have alerted us of the rish in Istambul. The street it's in is a bit of a dump, and very hard for local taxi drivers to find. But all the things to see are within walking distance, which is terrific.On a side street that needed gentrification on one side. But, half a block away and around the corner was the tram and a vibrant street scene. Very close to all the tourist attractions (good). Beware, a charge for breakfast and no female bath attendants. These are minor issues. Location is quite noisy in the morning.The heating system was a bit weird and needed a degree to figure out. It was too warm in our room and despite turning it off several times during the night, it seemed to have a life of it's own and turned itself back on again. Of course we could have asked and no doubt they would have helped but that would have been too simple!. Staff a little bit disorganised at times; but due to lack of English and lack of direction at times, otherwise great.Can be noisy in the mornings outside. The hotel is much smaller than I expected - but thats not bad.the street it is located was not clean and nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Particularly so to cater for my specific needs when in need.The turkish bath/SPA area is missing rest area and some niceratmosphere... Sometimes it can get a bit noisy in the room but you are so close to everything.Very noisey with street noise. Hotel bills in euros and collects in lire at exchange rate favorable to hotel. Booking directly with the hotel might avoid this. No sheets on beds.cleaning people very noise at 7.30 shouting around. Lift bell ringing every time it opens ......nightmare!!!!!!. hotel was not 5 star as letsbookhotel.com.
