Olini Lodge was by far the friendliest, most fun and interesting place I have ever stayed! I have travelled throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and nowhere I stayed can rival Olini for the feeling of a true home away from home. It's superb for a number of reasons. The location is fantastic, the beds large and comfy, rooms and shared facilities are all very clean. The breakfast of local fruits, toast and freshly baked cakes was not only delicious, but sitting around the table with.
all reviews » Olini Lodge is clean, conveniently located (Saia is also more than willing to give lifts into town) and very friendly. It is a guesthouse in the true sense in of the word. You meet people from all over the world, chat in the very comfortable lounge or on the spacious verandah and then share a meal - breakfast is great and the dinner that was prepared for us one night was sumptuous. Saia and his family really make you feel welcome and are genuinely interested in you as well as exchanging views o. Very nice clean lodge, a little bit out of town, but have all the facilities you need for a good comfortable stay. The best thing about the stay for me was the friendly atmosphere, and the guy in charge, Siosaia, is a great host. As a solo traveller, I definitely felt included in the "family" and he showed us the incredible sites around the island, and we went on a hunt for ice cream! Siosaia loves cheese. So if you want to get into his good books, bring him some cheese (it's expensive in Tonga. The relaxed atmosphere, the "home from home" feeling, "Snowy"s sense of humour and generous sharing of resources and time, the sumptuous breakfasts, and Sunday night meal was a real gourmet experience. I stayed in various accommodations while in Tonga and Olini Lodge was by far the place where I relaxed the most. I would highly recommend Olini Lodge to anyone in need of an island experience and "mixing with the locals". The view from the balcony makes one immediately feel on holiday. After traveling 120 countries, I'd like to endorse and repeat exactly same review which Jorge wrote below on Feb 11th 2013. The owner Saia is a matured gentleman with incredible kindness. He made his best effort to make himself sure that guests staying at his lodge were comfortable. He loves Samoa thus he is passionate to entertain guests in his home country Tonga. Olini lodge is a must stay place when you are in Tonga. This is not a hotel, it is a personal family guest house. Excellent !! Very very friendly and helpful hosts for all of your needs and wishes. Excellent and extended breakfast all day. Cleanest room in Tonga and South Pacific. The host, Siosaia, was very welcoming and friendly - there was nothing he wouldn't help with. The lodge is very clean and comfortable, allowing for a great night's sleep. I enjoyed Siosaia's 'Lost in Tonga' tour, where I got a real introduction to Tongan life and saw the main sights on Tongatapu. Saia (the owner and operator) is the soul of the place - his personal goal is to make you feel like a part of his family and he excels at that. The lodge itself is beautiful, good value, good location (just a few mins taxi or bus from town). Saia will meet you in the airport as well and is a great conversation companion. Thank you!. After being in more than 120 countries around the world I must say that this has been the friendliest place we have ever been. It is a 11/10. Much better than being in my own home. Interesting information, nice conversations, incredible breakfast... Whatever you need...you got it all. Impossible to get anything close for the price. In grading systems this may not equate to a 5/6 star rated facility but the service & hospitality is 6 star all the way. I would recommend this establishment to any type of traveller and since starting my travels 2 & half years ago this is by far the best value for money establishment I have stayed in.
