Early check in was no problem. The apartment was spacious and well equipped (although children had to share double bed in 2nd bedroom). The hotel is not very far from town and we had no difficulty getting shuttle into the night bazarre when required. Being slightly out of city was good as you didn't really hear traffic but more village type sounds (yes roosters in the morning), but that is the real Thailand! all reviews » My wife and I have just enjoyed a six night stay at the Grand Napat and was extremely impressed by the cleanliness and the staff, both on reception and in the restaurant. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them and their English is very good. The hotel is approximately a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the old city or a tuk tuk ride for approximately 80baht. There is a shuttle service into the old city that the hotel provide every night which is very useful. The swimming pool is a . I loved everything about this hotel. When we left Chiang Mai, we found ourselves comparing the rest of our hotels with the Grand Nepat. The owner was super-friendly, and his staff were beyond compare - especially the restaurant staff. They provided transfers to and from the airport, and booked tours on request. I had the best massage so far in Thailand, here and highly recommend it to anyone seeking ample comfort and service for economic price. The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The room was amazing, had a 2 bedroom apartment, it was massive and the beds so comfortable, wish I owned one. The location is really good only10mins from centre of town. Laundry facilities in area and coffee shop and pastry shop, 7/11, all within a 2 min walk. Can't wait to return. The hotel is not in the city center, but traveling around by tut-tut is very easy anyway. We were also pleasantly surprised with the free airport transfer provided by the hotel. The WiFi. It was really bad. It worked a minute and then utbstopped, all over my visit. The only two things are the wifi which wasn't very good it kept throwing you out and poor choice of English TV channels. Considering the price these two things shouldn't be so. A bit out of centre, needed to taxi always from hotel although this was always very easy and cheap. Kitchen was not well equipped. There was an electric stove, but no pots or pans. Only a kettle. There were forks and spoons, but no knives. We had to ask to be given one. But overall still good. Slightly far from town but the price etc well worth it easy to get transportation to town. nothing. Location was a bit away from the main centre. Shower Hot water turned off and on. It was also hard to control the temperature. Food: poor. the location is a bit out of the old town. walking takes 20-25mins. Tuk Tuk trip can be easily managed. Distance from the city and location/area. A shuttle back from city centre would be a plus. Smell coming from the ensuite bathroom. Hardness of the mattress Bacon at breakfast very overcooked. Cheaper to get a Tuk Tuk or Songtaew on the street than getting the hotel to call one. Nothing. Little things like the loose tap in kitchenette and the broken weight machine in the gym (cable broken). Breakfast was very limited. We went to the restaurant from the hotel once, not a good experience. Staff from the restaurant is very friendly but their English is poor, did not understand us when we tried to tell them that the steak was cold. Location is far from the downtown action. Restaurant had nothing for vegetarians and cook was hesitant to experiment. Far into the center of town. Noise from barking dogs at night. Roosters crowing in the morning.
