The room was absolutely beautiful. We liked the hotel better than the Pathumwan Princess which is very expensive, which we stayed at last time. It was so convenient, close to the popular Khao San Road and right on a ferry wharf on the Chao Phraya River. The breakfast was very good and the atmosphere - especially at night on the deck beside the River was great.The service personnel were exceptional.
all reviews » We loved just about everything about this hotel. Its location is ideal particularly as the river boat stops just outside the hotel. The rooms are beautifully made and if you are lucky enough to book a room over looking the river it is certainly worth the exra cost. The restaurant area has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and you can enjoy watching the comings and goings on the river. Excellent!. the hotel is amazing - clean, comfortable, tasty food, excelent location. the staff is very friendly and helpful. it is a very personalised hotel - none of this chain-hotel cliches! great hotel - the main nightlife area is minutes away and all the sightseeing places are just a stone throw away. there is an express boat stopping right at the door step. i would definitely stay there again :). right on Chao Praya at watertaxi. Excellent Breakfast and very good/excellent riverside restaurant. Courteous friendly staff. Area felt safe but busy. Floor 5 riverview room was ecellent and modern and fantastic views of river traffic. Barges, crise ships, highspeed skimmers, taxis, fishingboats,tugs excelent. Dont miss it.Great hotel. The rooms are top class by any western standards. Hotel is really well located about 5 minute walk to Ko Sahn Road, on the Riverbank and very near to the Grand Palace. There's a lovely rooftop pool with sunloungers. very close to river transport.Roof top pool/view. It is very close to the Khao Sanroad but the street it is on ie.Pra achit is full of local bars and places to eat and lots of live music etc.the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. the location is in the heart of old Bangkok and you get a true feel of the city. First Class accomodation. Higly recommended. Pool closes at 6pm when you return from sightseeing. I booked a delux city view which I paid extra for but only gota view of the road and pub opposite. The water temperature in the shower kept changing from hot to cold to hot ...They charged for a towel I used to wipe up coffee and the cleaning of the doona cover which was stained with a small amount of tiger balm used by my partner for his sore ankle. the pool had limited opening hours, there was some work being completed near pool area.I was in Bangkok for business and the hotel was not really set up for business use. (But it did not matter as I coped - with the help of the staff and the travel agent next door). Very difficult to talk to staff. English is not the best in Thailand.They are also new in the job and they do not control very well their duties and explanations to the customer. The roof top bar not being open at all. Friendly staff but some could poorly english. Their R=L ! S=F !. The evening restaurant staff were awful.Most spoke little or no English possibly due to the fact that they appeared to be of school age and poorly trained.No-one was able to advise on wines and when we made our decision on a white wine it came straight off the shelf and was warm.No-one seemed to realise that it should be chilled. All dishes ordered were served at the same time creating chaos. The temperature of the shower varies constantly.On the city side there can be quite a lot of noise from the streets or the bar on the other side of the street. No internet access other than wireless.in one night the neghbour was very noisy. They were unable to provide us with a double bed as we had requested, giving us twin beds instead. They promised at check in to give us a double bed the following night but this did not happen.The street view is a bit loud, it is smart to pay for a river view room. very noisy air-condition in our room. they charge for washing the towels in the bathroom, which is in principal okay. however it was not clearly stated anywhere and came a s a big surprise at the end. Showers should be checked. Sometimes hot water comes and sometimes cold water. Breakfast was poor.Noise from airco and street.. staff is good but could have a little more customer service focus, some of them do not speak english well. it would be great if the reception keep more tourist info available.There were birds or a farm of some sort to the right hand side of the hotel that was extremely noisy. Second time we went we were on the 2nd floor and the birds were very very noisy. Swimming pool only open from 9am till 5pm, and the jacuzzi was notworking, no slipper in the room, no toothbrush nor tooth paste. Don'tuse the travel agency in the hotel cause it's very expensive, walkfurther to the street for other agency with the same tour for muchcheaper price. The shower was not ok. Too hot, or too cold. Depending on where you would like to go, we found that we had to travel further to get to places....and had to face the taxis trying to rip us off. however it was a short walk to Khaosan road.
