  staff very helpfull. I thougy they had lunch but this wasn;t only breakfast and dinner. But they took me to a restaurant . Gave me a nice room with bedroom and a suite.   The owner of Star 101 was incredibly warm and gracious. He called cabs for us and gave us his personal cell number, should we have any troubles and need someone who spoke Mandarin. The room was spacious, clean, and inviting. Our room had a balcony - perfect for listening to the countryside at night. The location of the homestay is excellent, if ... what people say » staying in Taitung for an evening or two. It is a two minute's walk from the train station. The breakfast in the morning was enough to fill us up and - The Guest House was located very close to the Taitung Train Station, making it a convenient base to do day-trips. The station is also one of the stops for the Taiwan Tour Bus. Staff was really friendly and gave good suggestions/ recommendations. Breakfast was simple but homey. Room was large, as was the toilet.
