Lovely hotel a short walk from the station. Situated on the corner of a big park. Hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. Hotel clean and tidy with beds made every day. They don't have double beds as its two singles pushed together. Room has NO air con but a fan is provided. Room also has a small mini bar/fridge for all your drinks, water, milk, bier etc, it also has tea making facilities (topped up everyday). Only one English channel on TV (but who goes on holiday to watch TV!) lovely bathroo.
all reviews » This was our first trip to Switzerland and the first place we arrived. Although it was before midday, our room was ready. We had a beautiful view of the park and the mountains and the room itself was spacious, clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel's bar a great way to finish the day. The hotel itself was 5 mins walk from Interlaken Ost station and within walking distance of just about everything you could need. Plenty of restaurants nearby to make up for the hot. Hotel Du Nord is a short walk from the train, bus and ferry terminus which made it very convenient. We were upgraded to a suite, which was very spacious, has views of the mountains, local park and historic churches. Breakfast was delicious; the staff were efficient and friendly. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room, which we found was lacking from most of the other hotels in Europe. - The hotel is very close to the train station; - The staff was very friendly, both at the reception and at breakfast; - The room was very big, you could easily walk around; - The room was very clean; - There were extra pillows to use; - When we checked out, we received two bottles of water for the day, that was a very nice surprise. The views from our bedroom and the dining room were amazing and there was a great choice of food which was very tasty. The best part of this hotel was the staff, they were so friendly and extremely helpful and just couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Interlaken!. Yes,nice place. We could view mountains through window, very nice view. We like it!. The view from our suite was nice-right down the main street. Excellent location. the location. location. No air con in rooms. An extractor fan in bathroom that works would help. other than that a lovely hotel. They had a complex deal for the internet that involved the first hour free and thereafter a fee would be charged. We went down to the youth hostel, next to the station, which I highly recommend for afternoon coffee, cake and free access. - The bed was quite low (although comfortable, because I slept well); - Some of the furniture seemed a bit old fashioned (but very clean!). Nothing at all. Some of the other guests. Unfortunately this beautiful part of the world is becoming overrun with large groups of loud, arrogant and uncaring tourists. No aircon. the bathtub is a little dangerous so be careful! my wife stepped out of it and fell really hard. the height of the bathtub bottom and floor are not the same. just be very careful stepping into and out of bathtub. Wi fi was free in the lounge area but was chargeable in the rooms. Wi fi is no longer a luxury and should be included in all rooms. No English channels on the TV. We were very disappointed to find smoking was allowed on the balconies when the hotel was advertised as non-smoking. We wanted to leave our windows open, but couldn't always do that since smoke would drift into our room. No restaurant. Minimal breakfast. Expensive - as all of Interlaken is. Short bed. The Internet isn't for free in th room . Nothing. It's too close to a church. During the night, the church knocked the clock every 15 minutes!!! I couldn't fall asleep and woke up many times during the night! I think because of this, I 'm sorry but I won't recommend it. a little bit old style. Free wifi was from Starbucks next door. Only got short period before dropping out, therefore hard to make next booking from letsbookhotel.com. to make it clear that free wifi is available in the public area only. Wifi is not free. The bed could not be fixed completely horizontally because the slatted frame on the head could not be fixed completely horizontally and therefore I could not sleep well in a curved bed. There are many Asian people in the hotel, maybe it is a good idea to include more possibilities in the breakfast menu. The attached bar/pub was very poorly set up. It's a bit of a walk from the train station. We thought we would be right at the base of the mountains for snowboarding & skiing. Instead - it is about a 15-minute drive to that area - which is Grindewald. Really worked out fine, but I would have probably stayed in Grindewald, versus Interlaken had I know. Limited internet. Instead of a double twin bed, they should have a queen bed. There should be free wifi in rooms. Paid one looks like Stone Age. Additionally, we were really missing hotel restaurant. only the breakfast was very limited and no restaurent in tht nice hotel. Parking. bathroom very small wifi in room not free. to pay for the use of wifi is like having to pay for the air one needs to breeze. Toilets R not comfortable for muslims peolple (No water shower neer latrine) Internet is not free at rooms. Noice from Bar below. Distance from the train station. Did not know if we should get off train at Interlaken West or Ost- not mentioned when booking. Room not too sound proof. Over priced. the service, the size of the room. no AC WiFi expensive noise from street car being clost to street, and you are expected to open the windows to get some fresh air. Breakfast is poor in selections.
