  We stayed here just one night here after our flight arrived in Madrid and we needed a hostel that was affordable and within walking distance to the train station for our early departure the next morning. It's not a fancy building on an attractive boulevard, but it's within a short walking distance to the train station, which is all - It's an hostal, not an hotel. Said that, everithing was really good: WiFi decent, clean room (they clean it every day) and the staff is very helpful. Position is very good: really close to atocha, to the retiro gardens, the Prado, the modern art museum.. And close to city centre as well. In case in the district there are too different bars/pubs..

  There was a lot to like about this hostal. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The place was extremely clean. Our room was pretty small but for a budget option we didn't expect it to be large. One of the best things about Hostal Zamora is the location. You can walk to all the big tourist attractions-Puerta del Sol, the Prado and other art... what people say » museums, and the Palacio Real. There are scads of restaurants all around. You'd think it would be noisy but it's not. It's on a quiet square so yo - I am so sorry that I haven't asked the name of that super professional and kind guy at the reception. He was extremely careful, helped us out with all our questions and made sure that we were comfortable and safe all the time. The three recommendations he gave us (breakfast place, lunch place and pizza place) were all great. The hotel itself was not exactly what we were waiting for, but the location is great and everything was so easy. Recommend it.

  The location was right down in the city and close to many sights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the building was of the old architecture, which was charming. The rooms had a television, phone and plenty of bath linens. Jimmy and his staff were always very helpful. We would recommend Hostal Sardinero to anyone wanting to stay right in the heart of Madrid. - Superb location in beautiful side-street within easy walking distance of all the major sights. It was lovely to feel that we were in the heart of Madrid. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us a warm welcome even though we arrived very late after a delayed flight. Room very comfortable. There was some noise on Friday and Saturday nights from people in the street but no traffic noise.

  It was my first experience to stay in a hostel. And I was not disappointed. The room windows were faced inside that is why it was quietly. The room was small, but it was very clean. The room was cleaned every day. Beds were very wide like double. The mattress and pillow were quite comfortable, linen was clean and of good quality. Maid rearranged room for us after first night to better suit our needs(2 twins beds to a pseudo-double) and tidied our sloppy shoes. Ultra clean. Like spotless. Pressed sheets. I found this property with a price filter but will make a bee line there next time.

  Stayed here twice..flying to Marrakech and on the return flight back to Madrid stayed overnight to fly out the next morning to the states. Very clean..had a problem with ac n after several complaints the manager moved us to a room where the ac was working. Decent food..but next door is a supermercado which is nice and we bought a bottle of Frangel... what people say » ico for $12 which is much more in the states. Nice and convenient to airport and their shuttle picks you up and takes you back. Taxis have min$35 char - Breakfast was amazing starting from 4:00 am which is great for passengers taking early flights. I was given a room with poor internet connection which I really needed, when I requested another room for this reason I was given another one at once without any hassle and even the receptionist suggested if the problem persisted in the new room to tell him and he will connect me to the internet provider support directly. I was really impressed. The new room had very strong reception.
