Staff were very pleasant and helpful. they provided us with maps to travel the city and very approachable. The rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel is in great location. The hotel is situated very close to all usual turist attractions. The staff was always ready to help.The hotel was in a great location, accessible to public transportation and easy to get to via public transportation to the airport, museums, etc.

Going off first impressions, the only bad point i would like to make about this hotel is the smell of food when entering the hotel, whereby the reception area smelt of whatever was cooking next door in the restaurant. However, this is the only bad point about this hotel. I can't say that the hotel is very comfortable. But in a very close time it'll be reconstructed.The elevator went to the 6th floor, we were on the 7th. no meals served. small room, hotel in need of decoration. The rooms looked quite old and unkept though the bathroom and toilet was very neat. The elevator looks likd one in 1920. The ubication is so bad, to go driving,. it needs remodelling. it needs refurbishing. It's a two star hotel with a three star rating and price.Here you really get what you pay for...rooms with a foul smelling odour and bad insulation (the rooms can get pretty cold during the night when the temperature is low outside). Dirty windows,dirty curtains.Car Park impossible to access owing to traffic restrictions.Noisy guests in adjoining rooms with thin walls made it difficult to sleep.It was in shoddy condition. A fridge that was empty and unplugged, poordecor, a safe deposit box that required 1 euro each time it was opened.Carpets throughout hotel old and dirty. decoration and cleaness. To small the room, to cold and no heather in the shower, cheap hotel for to much money. The hotel facilities are not adequate for a 3 star hotel... The air conditioning doesn't work properly and the cleaning is not so good. During our stay we had to change rooms because the AC did not work (which is quite bad during August). The second room was not much better because it was in the last floor (7th), not acessible by elevator, and looked like it wasn't cleaned for half an year.Hotel was old and run down, there were no English TV channels. the room smelt like a sewer, the floor was dirty with small pieces of room in the corners, the bathroom clean but with a terrible smell also and I found a long black air in the bed. Need I say anymore????. room very small, dirty, asked for double bed get two singles, noise from the pipes, only 1 glass that suppose to be sterile (it was in a plastic bag with written "sterile") but it was veryyy dirty! I wouldn't come back to this hotel. Almost everything: room was dirty (minibar was full of rotten food), poor furniture (not even a chair), noisy, etc.

Information about the area

The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, close to the main theatres, cinemas and museums. The well-known shopping area Callao and Preciados is also nearby.

Puerta del Sol (0.3 km) – one of the most well known and busiest places in Madrid. The square contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.

El Palacio Real (0.8 km) – This Spanish royal palace began as a hunting pavilion and became an alternative residence of the kings of Spain until Alfonso XII, who died in the palace. Francisco Franco lived in the palace after the Spanish Civil War. Since Franco's death, the palace has been used as a residence for visiting heads of state.

Cathedral de la Almudena (0.8 km) – Although plans for the construction of the church began in the 16th century, the actual construction did not begin until the 1800s and was not completed until 1993. The cathedral’s interior is uniquely modern with Pop Art decor.

Travelling information

From the Airport:
By Car (N-II road):
-Take the access towards M-40 signposted N-III and N-IV (Andalucía and Valencia). Take the detour towards Vicálvaro-O'Donnel.
-At the roundabout follow signs towards O'Donnel until C/Alcalá. Continue along until you reach Gran Vía.
-Onve on Gran Vía, take C/Abada and then C/Mesonero Romanos (number 7).

Shuttle services from the airport: contact the company Aerocity at the airport.

By Metrs: (30 minutes)
- Take line 8 and get off in Nuevos Ministerios.
- Take line 10 (towards Puerta del Sur) and get off iat Alonso Martínez.
- Take line 5 (towards Casa de Campo) and get off at Gran Vía.
- Once at Gran Vía, head for C/Abada until you arrive to the C/Mesonero Ramos (number 7).
