the room was lovely and spacious as well as clean and well kept. the hotel bar was open until 1am every night which was handy and the pool on the top floor was a really great luxury !. views from rooftop terrace were excellent.great location.staff left you to your own devices.free coffee and croissants left out side your room.decent mix of people.defintley go back. Fab hotel, beautiful modern rooms(just renovated) chocolates in boxes onthe bed etc and they had tea and coffee facilities...wonderful!!.

Staff were friendly and pleasant.The rooms were very modern, clean, and had all the conveniences you could ask for. It was also centrally located, but quiet. Great hotel,very great district. No wonder!! We stayed 2nights 30Dec-!st Jan in a public car parkand it was 85euro!! Not happy!!. Our room was situated directly behind the lift. Some noise did filter though to our room. Saying this, our stay at the hotel was most agreeable. Nothing, everything are perfect.Music in the restaurant together with piano music in bar - unpleasant. Recommend something quiet in the restaurant and can the piano. we were meeting up with friends, who had breakfast included but our reservation did not, so it was a little awkward. there could be more satalite tv for english guests. You could hear the underground trains. The breakfast price is too expensive. Only small problem was getting the coffee pots at the morning breakfast to be hot enough.well, to be really wanting to be annoying, the structure from outside looks a bit old. Our room smelled a little of smoke and as I am pregnant a found this a little off putting. Maybe smokers should be allocated smoking rooms and vice versa. room had no natural light. The food was very expensive - 17 euros for a basic breakfast!. Some of the staff had problems understanding and speaking english. No iron on the room, and you really had to strech the tube of the hairdryer to look in the mirror while doing your hair. we could not use the sound system - the sound was not good.They did not offer an iron or ironing room. You had to get the laundry to iron. At 8euro a shirt, it was too expensive and had to go around with unironed clothes after the ironing bill started getting too high. You can also hear the trains underground. There is an additional charge for using the internet.Occassionally hear and feel the underground. Slight smell of stale tobacco in corridors (not in the rooms though). The subway noise even on the sixth floor.Breakfast service - had to have the buffet (expensive) or sit in the bar area for coffee and a pastry. No non-smoking floor - we could smell smoke in our room. The only point about the hotel I did not like was the fact it smelt of tabacco and we had a no-smoking room.Our room was on the front of the hotel, beside a very busy street. Quite noisy at night. Window did not close properly so traffic noise too loud and could not sleep.A liitle too far out from the hub of barcelona. price. Two things: breakfast a rip off at 17 euros pp. Did not let us remain in our room until 2pm to allow for our slightly later return flight unless we paid 30 euros! A bit stingy as the room was clearly not in demand and we had paid approx 130 euros per night for the 3 nights- you felt like they were just trying to bleed you dry at any opportunity. Would have been a nice (not too demanding) gesture. Not enough English TV channels Rooms ridiculously hot at night, had to complain and ended up having to change room to one where the a.c. worked.carpet in room was dirty. biscuits taken from room, towels not four star standard, mirrors dirty. on 4 occasions we were unable to get the key-card to work to get into room and had to go back to reception. One morning on returning to our room after breakfast the maid had just started to mop the floor of the bathroom. We both needed to use the bathroom and waited for her to leave but she did not and instead completed a full programme of cleaning in the room while we remained in it. I had a big bill at checkout time for Ironing 15 pieces of shirts. It costs EUR107 which was 4 times of price of a Iron. The Hotel did not provide in-room Iron and Ironing board,despite common practice in other hotels. So we urged to give all cloths to Hotel for Ironing. Our room had "no view" but that was not a problem as we where in Barcelona for the city and not for the view from our hotel room. The check in was very poor, not sure if there was some confusion with the booking as we did not get our room until 5pm but the staff were very polite and apologetic. To be fair it may have been available earlier but we did not want to continue to wait in the lobby so we went out again at 4 pm and came back at 5 and then it was ready.Needed a revamp. Disappointed that once had used the one tea/coffee was informed had topay for next, for price of room felt let it down.
