My friends and I really liked Casa Consell and liked it the most of all places we stayed during our two week trip thruout Europe. Stewart and his staff were very helpful and the accomodations were very comfortable. Our room was also very comfortable for the three of us. The kitchen and sitting area were great and allowed us to meet other guests. Plus it was minutes from the train, bus tour, great restaurants and city activities. Stewart and staff helped us with our daily activities and getting .
all reviews » We are received with warm welcome to this charming hostel with excellent staffs. Everywhere was really clean and well-organized. Staffs are always for us to help. In our room, we had even patio which enjoyed a lot sitting out. We expected more of the noise from the streets, but it was really quiet. Kitchen facility was also very nice and clean when we cooked one evening and prepared extra things during breakfast as well. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely come back!!!. Francisco, Lucas and Stuart were very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of tips and local knowledge to be had, and very responsive - fixed a minor maintenance problem right away. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very well presented. The guest house has a beautiful courtyard out back, and is out of the way enough to be quiet at night, yes still walkable to plenty of action. Recommended!. Well located close to the Gaudi Cathedral and main shopping street, plus short walk to Old Town. Very close to the Barcelona-Passeig de Gràcia train station, which allows direct transfer from the airport (each way). Good breakfast with generous hours, and nice, large public lounge area. Warm, welcoming and social feeling about the place. Would stay here again. Everything was excellent, the owners are very friendly, there is a nice relaxed atmosphere, you can use common spaces and nice big terrace as much as you want. The house in right in the center, it has breakfast and kitchen when you can prepare food and then keep in the fridge...~You can listen to music in the living room, watch TV, or just sit with a drink... I really enjoyed my stay here, it was extremely comfortable and felt like 'home'. The breakfast was really good too. This guest house is close to everything and as its also close to the metro you can get to wherever you need to go quite quickly. Would have loved to stay longer!. I rated 5 stars for this hotel, totally value for money. - the hotel was located near to the metro and to the train station - the beds are very comfortable - good coffee - nice terrace, you can stay an just relax, work, etc - the staff is very friendly. Even though we were street facing with the windows closed it was quiet. Lots of bathrooms to share. The staff is really very kind and helpful. The interior of the place is just great. One of their bathroom has a bit of short shower curtain, so it was challenging not to make the floor wet as we took a shower. However, this is very minor thing to mention. A little hard to find - it's just one floor of a multi-story building. Shared bathroom (but clean and good hot water, so not really a problem). Shame it's owned by a kiwi ;-). I would have liked to have laundry facilities to use. A thing I didn't like is it has to share bathroom and toilet, room has weak fan. Others are excellent. Nothing... The old lift scared me a bit. Breakfast was really basic-cereal and toast, which got old by the 3rd day. WiFi was spotty. Breakfast was really basic and Wi-fi was very slow connection in the rooms but they are not really problem :). No ham, eggs or cheese for breakfast. Small room. quite noisy with the window open at night. WiFi connection in the room was very unstable (but perfect in the reception/shared kitchen). Very small room and tiny shower. Room for three persons was extremlely small,there was no place even for my hand luggage.No TV.Have to share bathroom with another guests. Very loud door locks, uncomfortable keys for rooms. The only thing that would have made it better would be having a cooked breakfast and en suite - however we did book it knowing that we would not get these so not complaining. As they only clean the toilets once in the morning, and multiple guests use the common toilets... it can get quite dirty when you come back at the end of the day hoping to get a good clean shower. perhaps they can arrange for a late afternoon cleaning. room is small. Wifi connection. Bedroom very small. 1. No room clean service during the three days of my staying. 2. It was not the host's problem, but it was always very noisy. 3. Some kind of small insects kept sting me all night. I did not know if they were fleas or mosquitoes. It was really hard to get to sleep. And no solution. Anyway, the staying was absolutely not comfortable. Small noisy room, need to sleep with closed windows which made it hot and stuffy already in March; no cleaning or trash removal during the whole stay (4 nights); no tv in the room.
