Within a 1-minute walk were the following: the Urgell metro stop, 3 places to get coffee/baking goods to go or stay there, several cafes, a grocery shop, and two corner tapas restaurants. Within a 10-minute walk were the university, lots of supermarkets, and more places to eat and drink. The room itself was clean and had its own balcony with table and chairs, tv, clothes storage, and safe. When something broke, the staff fixed it within two minutes of asking about it. all reviews » Our apartment in Barcelona Rooms was spacious and perfect for the five of us. It had two full bathrooms, a full kitchen with clothes washing machine.It was clean and we had clean towels brought while we were there. It had a double bed in one room, two singles in another and a trundle bed in the living room for our daughter. We also liked that it was close to the metro station. It was perfect location on the day we departed. Our son had to catch a bus at 2am to the airport. The bus stopped right. The host Daniel was very helpful upon my arrival; and also upon my departure where I was directed to the location of the Aerobus bus stop. The location is excellent right beside Urgell Train Station which is very handy for getting around Barcelona. There are nice Coffee Shops right beside the Barcelona Rooms and also nice Restaurants and a Bakery as well. The Avenue of Catulunya is tree lined which is also great for walking into the centre of Barcelona maybe about 20 minutes to 25 minutes walk. I expected basic, but I felt I was given a good deal more. There was a tale in the room. The lights could be switched off at the bed, and the entrance to the rooms was pleasant. It was also only moments from the airport bus stop, and so a great place to explore the city from, and also, if one was on a late flight, the travel time there was short. The proprietor Daniel had wit and a good command of English. The shared facilities were clean and adequate. The rooms were big and clean. The wifi works, though the signal is not good inside the rooms. Location is perfect! no to close to the noisy part of the city but everything is reachable by foot. Urguell train station is just ten steps away from the entrance :), and Aerobus stops (from and to the airport) are one/two blocks away. The bathroom was very clean. Extremely friendly staff, great location to the Aerobus to and from El Prat airport, several good eateries. Bright, clean rooms, and shared bathroom facilities were very well maintained. Aldo had a good air-conditioner in my room, which ensured a good night's sleep, which is sometimes difficult in Barcelona as nights can be humid in summer... awesome!. The location is excellent. Lots of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Just two stops on the metro (which is virtually next door) to the centre of Barcelona. The hotel was basic but clean with fresh towels and air con. Lots of sockets in the room too so we could charge our cameras and iPads. The room was nicely decorated and clean. There was very little noise from the street or from other residents. It really was more like staying in someone's flat for a few days as we didn't see any of the staff. Location: The place is 100 meters distance from Urgell Station. The best and most convenient way to reach the place from Barcelona Airport is to take Aerobus. It only takes less than 35 minutes to reach Urgell Station. Facilities: The Studio with kitchenette is very spacious. Services: Staff Ana is very friendly and accomodating though the only service that they provide is just giving the key and give you the city map. Cleanliness: They clean the room every other day. The entire facility is old. It would have been nice to have a small fridge, just to keep liquids and fruit fresh (fruit is so inexpensive to get in Barcelona!) But that's the ONLY downside - perhaps someone with foresight could bring a collapsible cooler because ice is available in local grocery stores. The only thing the apartment was missing was towel hooks and a place to put your toiletries in one of the bathrooms. However, it did have a towel heater on the wall. The showers were poorly designed so it was difficult to take a shower without getting water all over the floor. The check-in as advertised was 21:00 - which with an arrival in Barcelona Airport at 19:55 touch-down was uncomfortably tight. In mitigation, Daniel sent several emails to help me get there quickly, a service that was appreciated. The shower was blocked somehow... it wasn't so bad, the water goes away after a while, but still it is a little bit disgusting/annoying. There is no elevator... and the rooms are in the 5th and 6th floor (~ hundreds of stairs...). The place is easy to find but it doesn't have a visible sign, so is better to look for the house numbers. The limited reception hours made things a little difficult. I wish there were tea and coffee facilities in the room. It would make a big difference in the morning to be able to have a cuppa before you go out for the day. The shower was two foot off the floor. I have a bad back and hip so I couldn't get in it. A little stool would have helped. I had to wash down at the sink. No real complaints - would visit again. The shower doors were almost nonfunctional as they were off their track but the water was plentiful and hot so I was ok there. 1. My bed was hard as a rock. 2. Thin walls. Bit noisy. Would be better if the kitchen was open all day rather than just mornings. a little bit noisy. weak wifi signal in our room noise from outside luggage store after checkout is not free. The hotel is divided in two buildings. The main one is quite clean and pleasant. The other one, not so much. Also 5 out of 6 times I wanted to take a shower there was no warm water. Barcelona is a hot city, but I like a warm shower every now and then!. No sound protection at all: you will hear all neighbouhrs, bath sounds etc. Bed isn't comfortable. The main problem is not 24h reception. They give me card so I can enter the house and floor. Unfortunately I've forgot the card in my room. And then I've spent time from 7.30 pm till 9 pm waiting for somebody to let me in (there was nobody on reception!!!). Bathrooms could use a facelifts. A fridge in the common room wouldn't be bad. The guy who checked us out was absolutely horrible. Unhelpful, rude on the verge of aggressive and as far from service minded as one can come. A shame cause otherwise we really liked the place. The other staff were nice though. noise from the street is anoying when you stay in the room located to the main street. We changed and after then it was ok. There is a keycard to get into the building and your floor, but a keypad for your room door. The passcodes werent very inventive. Kinda hot if you don't havecir con. The bed sets were not changed as it was promised, but since we were staying just for 5 days it was ok for us. -noisy air conditioner -they clean the room once every two days. partitions between the rooms are really inconvenient, hearing lots of noises from the next door. there is no mini fridge in the rooms, wi-fi not working,. Can't complain about anything!. Lots of stairs to climb if you're staying in the left side of the building... One of the showers wasn't working well. - room on 6th floor, no elevator - no fridge available at all. there is no hotel sign in front of the building. There is lack of effort in decor and the mattress was really uncomfortable. The noise from the main street in front. I have seen a cockroach in the bathroom. I didn't want to leave!. No English channels on tv. no english channels on tv. - Noisy - No air-conditioned - No elevator (was 6th floor up) - No mini fridge. The interior of the building where the apartment is located. The kitchenette doesn't have any burner but is equiped with microwave. You can easily hear your neighbor banging their doors.
