The hotel is very close to the main street where all the action is 'la rambla' , yet it is in a quiet neighbourhood. It is also very close to the police station hence very safe as well.Rooms are designed well with full attention to detail on comfort and convenience.But the highlight of the hotel is Mr.ALBERT. He will give you the best suggestions for things to do, places to eat, happening night clubs etc. He goes out of his way to make things happen.Of course the other staff is very hospitable .
all reviews » Booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary & it didn't disappoint. The staff were amazing making excellent restaurant recommendations with directions & reservations all taken care of as well as providing useful info & tips on the area. We were able to check in early and were very impressed with the room. Spotlessly clean, spacious and the best shower I've used in a hotel! No outside noise at all & dark curtains meant a good sleep every night. Location was barely a 5 min . The location was excellent with a short 3 minute walk to the famous Rambla Street and close to the Port. The hotel is modern and clean however the single room is very small. I found the bed to be comfortable and with the windows closed very quiet the airconditioning worked well and kept the room cool during the hot days. A nice modern shower and toilet facility. There is also a swimming pool on the top floor with amazing views of Barcelona which I didn't make use of as it was quite small and cr. Friendly staff, very modern, done to a very high standard, no food in the evening, very large breakfast lounge which we never took up, but looked very good, what we saw!! The hotel is well placed for many many restaurants close by, turn left out hotel, cross over road and first road right is full and down that road again turn left and cross over and the road in front is full, Kentucky on that corner, that road is full both sides!! Or turn left or right and that road is full both sides of qualit. The staff were friendly and the facilities excellent. the rooms were clean and spacious. The location of this hotel not too far from La Ramblas (10 min walk) makes this hotel a great location from which to explore the city on foot, by bus or taxi. The rooms benefit from air conditioning which is super effective and quiet and the room doors are so thick and well insulated and double glazed windows, mean that your room is quiet, not that the location of the hotel needs such soundproofing. We had . Firstly the location is ideal, it is on a quiet road parallel to la rambla (two minutes walk to la rambla) very close to two metro stations. You have got a lot of dining variety around. It is just a few minutes walk to the sea. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and cooperative and have always been able to find us the best places to visit and help us with traveling from barcelona to other cities. The hotel design is excellent. The pool on the roof is a good place to hide and relax after e. Good price for a triple room with all facilities required for a city break. Rooms were clean and spacious. Hotel was extremely security conscious with card access required for front door, lifts etc which made us feel very safe. Good selection of food for breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff who booked a number of trips online for us which saved us a lot of time by avoiding queues at visitor attractions. You will find a metro station at the corner of the street and the bus stop in the front of the hotel. Nice clean rooms, good beds and a strong shower. Very friendly staff. Perfect lockers for your luggage for 2 euro. The hotel has nice areas to relax, a small swimming pool on the roof with a spectacular view! Considering the fact that the hotel is in a central location,the rooms are very quite, as too, is the air-con, we knew it was working but not a sound from it. The pool, although small, is great, wonderful views. The breakfast was well thought of, catering for British and continental tastes, plenty of everything. The very helpful staff, including the front office staff who very kindly let us check in early following a 26 hour flight, and the breakfast chef who organised the most delicious, warm gluten free rolls for my wife at breakfast at short notice. Shame you cannot visit the roof terrace after 9pm as it would have been great to see the night time views. Bed was very comfortable but a little too soft by the end of the trip!. The breakfast was disappointing could be kept warm and made fresh as I found that the food is prepared and left standing and the scrambled eggs and bacon served cold. However there was a good selection to chose from. They also start making the breakfast quite late and when you arrive early at around 7:30 the food is not ready even though the doors open for breakfast at 7 a.m. One night we had noisey people above (Spanish) so as always in Spain the Spanish are very noisey and never like the setup of the bedrooms as they always seem to move the furnishing around all night long!!! If I had complained the staff would have done something I was told, so this place ticked all our boxes for sure, no problems with anything us and as you can read, I am very fussy regarding noise!!. The only grumble and its a really small is that this design hotel has black ceilings and walls in the corridors with spot lights. This makes for a dark experience and would benefit from a lighter wall paper just to disperse the light better. You cannot really move around the hotel without the access card. On arrival We thought that the hotel should have a bar however after our first night out we realised this was not an issue as so many places to go nearby hotel that were open to 3am. - View from the room was on a ugly building (hospital) - The oranje juice maker was stuck. I wasn't repaired during our holiday. But it was in the weekend so understandable. I would have liked the hotel's outside seating area to have stayed open later than 10/11pm. It would have been nice to come back in the evening and sit outside with a drink before retiring. limited space & seats at the pool on the roof. The weights machine was broken when I was there which wasn't ideal. Buffet could use a little extra variety. Water pool was super cold. But that is normal on European standards. It's not like i dislike that, but the walls painted in black on the floor we lived in were quite strange thing for us. WiFi signal in our room (104) was strange: with difference of 2 meters there were zones with WiFi and without. Although there was a vending machine in the lobby, the addition of tea and coffee facilities in the rooms would be appreciated. not much. Some of the german tourists were a bit difficult to deal with in the pool area. The only thing I don't like is there is no free luggage store services after you have checked out. You have to pay to store your luggage in each lockers. Outside of the hotel doesn't feel very safe but that is very common in Barcelona and is not the hotels fault. Although ok, breakfast did not include fresh orange juice or healthy bread. With an electric kettle in the room, it would have been perfect. Remember to hold your card at the front door for at least 3 seconds to open it. A touch characterless for our tastes. Night light for the bathroom would helpful this is a not a negative although. Everything great. Just prefer a fridge in the room. The Andante Hotel only has an optional breakfast service and it is not very good value at 12 euro pp and the variety & standard of food & beverage was not very high. But if your in a hurry it's convenient and good enough. Better to go to local cafes as 6 euros get an excellent continental or savory breakfast and high quality coffee too!. Minimal appointments in bedroom, would have preferred glass drinking glasses rather than flexible plastic ones. No it was all there in a small but perfectly formed room. Very modern facilities. This never happens but I can't actually fault the hotel! One small thing actually, the hair dryers in the room aren't powerful enough!. Bed was a bit hard. Swimming pool small but amazing views. lack of facility to make or purchase a hot drink at any time on site. Nothing to complain about :). Can't think of a thing. Probably a pool bar would be nice so you can enjoy some cocktail while sunbathing. Only draw back for me was no tea making facilities in room, just love my morning cuppa! Only had breakfast on first morning as I didn't think it was worth 12 Euros, not much I could eat as I'm wheat intolerant and cooked breakfast just not very appealing. Bacon bit limp! No bar but we bought our own drinks and sat in the courtyard one evening, lovely. No dislikes!. The terrace at the rooftop was accessible after dark, but there was no lights, so a bit dangerous. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Bacon not up to scratch , weak orange juice and only scrambled egg in servery. However this would not put me off recommending this hotel.
