Centre-Ville was an amazing place to stay and the unique Victorian look could be seen down to the smallest detail. Not only was it walking distance to all sites of interest, but the hosts were incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of the town and ensured we enjoyed the best food and experiences. My personal favourite aspect of Centre-Ville was the friendly, "family" vibe where all guests were openly welcomed and everyone could comfortably sit and chit chat around the fire in the mornings an.
all reviews » Small lovely bed & breakfast just a street off the main shopping and restaurant street for this lovely quaint wine country town, surrounded by lovely mountains. We booked the honeymoon suite which is a large open room with a free standing tub and a deck. The staff were amazing.... our plane was very late getting into cape Town, and then we had a drive to get to Franschhoek. The hostess had taken the initiative to book us into a restaurant (as they were all close to closing) ... it was th. The owners are so friendly and you are literally a guest in their home. You share the living spaces with the family and other guests and it is so great to meet up with everybody at breakfast and before dinner. They had a dinner reservation option ready for us with transportation included and we greatfully took it and it was a fantastic dinner at super reasonable prices. The location is perfect, hard to get any better.Breakfast was cooked to order and really good.Wish we could come back in the s. The hosts Elsa and Jacob and all the staff make you so welcome. The guest house is a great base to explore the town and also great base for visiting other areas. Would recommend the guest house house to other travels. There maybe others that are cheaper but we found Centre Ville to be great value for money. They will let you use their fridge to keep things Copland will even lend you cutlery and crockery if you plan to eat in as we did one night. Well done to all of the team for making our holid. The Guest House is in a perfect location just a couple of minutes stroll to the main road with many restaurants and shops. The owners were so nice and immediately made you feel very comfortable. It is excellent value for money compared with other guest houses in the area. It had a nice garden, good breakfast and everything you need for your stay. We had our own key to the front door, so even when we come home late at night we did not have to worry about waking up the owners. We will definately stay here again when we visit Franschhoek. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and sites of interest. By car it needs just some minutes to reach many wine farms or the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve. Highly recommended!. The tub is under a slanted ceiling so you have to watch your head getting in and out. The toilet is not completely private with saloon style doors. No complaints, everything was lovely. We had booked a downstairs room which had a high ceiling but were given a room upstairs which had a low, slanting ceiling in some areas of the room so we had to be careful not to stand straight up in those areas. We enjoyed our stay very much. Attic rooms not ideal - bouncing your head of the roof timbers not a pleasant experience. The weather was cold & wet but sitting by the open fire inside was great. The aircon is quite noisy. I could not get the shower to stay a consistent temperature - it went either cold or scalding. windows of room facing road and pool area very small. No garden. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbor, breakfast room a bit too small when all the guests are there at the same time. Nothing. Not a bottle of water in the room upon check in. Absolutely nothing - faultless. Nothing!. Would have liekd a bottle of water in room. Nothing to dislike. No complaints on anything. creaky floorboards. Room "Comfort" advertised as a single room could have a smaller bed which would make room for a decent cupboard for clothes including some draws. At present a tiny bit of hanging space - no draws. the awkward slope of the ceiling in our, and the absence of a secure lock on the door of the toilet facilities in our otherwise luxurious bedroom.
