I chose Taxi hostel for its good price and proximity to Otopeni airport. I had a group of American students and teachers who had flights early in the morning. The rooms were modern, pleasant and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing free shuttle to the airport for two different departures. There are plenty of places close by to get something to eat. We were not there on a weekend so it was pretty quiet (no parties to keep us awake). I will definitely use Taxihostel again w.
all reviews » We were staying here because we had an early departure to the Otopeni airport and they were more than accommodating to knock on our doors at 530am and drive us to the airport at 545am. The rooms are huge and very affordable and nice. For a place to stay on your last night in Romania with an early departure this is your place. Is located in a quiet neighborhood, very nice personel who's goal is to please the customers. Try the restaurant's hostel, order a four-cheese pizza and you will not regret it. We love it. Compliments to the chef. Fast and reliable transportation to the airport. Thank you Taxi Hostel. See you next time. We picked this Hostel due to it's very close proximity to the airport. The Hostel is very clean, the staff courteous, clear and helpful. The breakfast was really nice! We also were given one free transfer to the airport. Very glad to have booked here! We thought it lowered the tone of what is otherwise a very nice place. Driving to the hotel was difficult because of the one way roads, our gps did a good job of getting us there however. The first impression is not very welcoming,but the staff is very nice, its the décor. Its in a neighborhood and walking distance to food seemed not very available. there was no elevator(which can be expected at hostels), the taxi drivers of the town didn;t know the location (so we were searching for it all over the area), only handsoap in the bathroom and a little bit of toilet paper. Smell of cigarette smoke pervades from other rooms. The shower is small and not brilliant, but adequate. don'T have A.C. and on summer time is hard without. All is OK. Nothing perfect experience. It is not the best Location, i would have stayed longer but i had luggage and it was too far outside of bucharest. The music from the bar is very strong, as the night and the reception was loud. Do not choose the ground floor and top floor for accommodation. People smoke everywhere (but thats law I guess..) even in the restaurant. Staff a little confused but still trying to help. Wifi didnt work for me (wrong password). Card terminal didn't work. A little bit hard to find. They don't accept cards. I staied twice (on arrival to Romania and on depature). In both cases they don't accept cards. But they indicated that they accept. You can not pay always with credit card!!! Some of the reception staff are not speaking english. !!!Sometimes the credit cards are not accepted!!!1. nothing. A bit hard to find. I wouldn't have stayed more than one night in this hostel: it is ok as a solution to spend the night after the flight to Otopeni, but nothing more! The morning after we ordered a taxi, waited outside for 20 mins before complaining at the reception and realizing the taxi company didn't send any taxi...had to wait another 15 mins for the taxi!. too far from the city. Very difficult to find: There is no signposting unless you stand in front of the house. The hotel claims to have 24h reception which is not true. The hotel is run by only 1 person who also serves as the shuttle driver. Logically, the reception is not staffed always. The doors are thin and you may hear every word spoken on the staircase. The curtain I also found very thin. Hidden Hotel. Impossible to reach follwing GPS instruction. Hotel is not having it's own parking so it directs you to a hidden place beiond any control of it, in a public park. The narowest bathroom I ever seen. The most improvised furniture I ever seen in a room. Room rate far beyond its level. My advise stay only if you don't have any where else. At 04:00, in the morning, the receptionist was missing and door largely opened, like no control of anything.
