Grand common areas with much original architectural details intact. Lovely gardens, ponds, paths and entrance.It was a lovely place and a lovely room. Range of dinner choices was restricted but good value for money. The price of the breakfast buffet at 14.50 euros per person was too much for what it was.The room was somewhat small and the "double bed" was with separate beds. Am not sure wheter they offer queen size beds. Also missed the coffee in room. Rooms should have more cupboards and a fridge. On the Friday of our stay they had a large private function which occupied vertually all the ground floor reception areas, but for the price we paid for such a marvellous place, set in a very beautiful garden, this has to be expected. would have loved to see the trees with green leaves on...:-). Rooms slightly under-equipped: no coffee / tea making facility, trouserpress or accessories you often find in hotels of this standard. Breakfast relatively expensive (eur 14), especially if all you want iscoffee and croissant. would have liked tea / coffee in room. the beds are little soft for my taste...Price of breakfast a little steep at 14 euros. No coffee or tea in room. no air condition. Beds was too soft and sink in the middle. My wife had a bad back andcould not sleep well. Mattress could be firmer. The rooms were clean, but lacked character expected of a castle. They were rather dorm like.Had only rooms with 2 seperate beds. The room was quite small.No air conditionning. Breakfast is not included in house prices , the need for each person added to 14 euros. Breakfast food very small, fast End was not immediately take up. I find it very disappointing, we spent four of the cost of breakfast, do not think Worthwhile. First impression of 'ultra modern' a bit of a shock for a 'chateau' type hotel. There where disgusting body hair lying around in the bathroom. The room was very dark. The size of the room and the lack of this disclosure that the room was so small. I don't know if all rooms are so small or we got the small room because of the rate. The comfort of the beds was good, but the room was incredibly small. The window would not stay open without putting a chair in the frame. The hall was about 100 degrees.Limited options for evening meal. Rooms are not wel isolated, when you are close to the main area, you aredisturbed by people going to their rooms at night. Some of the furnitureneeds replacement.The rooms are very small, one can hardly turn around in there. Having two little dogs with us, which the hotel knew upon reservation, we should have had a larger room, especially since we had to pay an extra charge for the dogs!. Found the room disappointing (old and old fashioned) compaired to the general image of the hotel. Small room(and we realised there were even smaller ones), flooding shower, needs renovation.

By plane from Amsterdam:
You can fly in through Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and go by plane to Maastricht Airport (about 30 minutes). Than take a taxi to the Castle ( about 10 minutes ).

By plane from Brussel:
From the Brussels airport you follow the motorway E40 to Luik. Near Luik you follow the Motorway E25 to Maastricht. Follow this motorway through the city (several traffic lights). Turn left in the direction of Meerssen. Turn right at the first intersection. You are now at the Meerssenerweg. After several kilometers you turn left in the direction of Weert and cross the railway twice. Then you will drive straight on the drive-way of Vaeshartelt Castle.

By car from Maastricht:
Follow Meerssenerweg, after several kilometers exit Weert (on the left side) and cross the railway twice; then straight on to the drive way.

By car from Heerlen:
Motorway A-79 Heerlen-Maastricht, exit 1 Rothem-Bunde; at the end turn to the right.
Turn left at the first fork, direction Maastricht. Then the first road on the right side (direction Weert) and cross the railway twice. You'll drive straight on the drive way of Vaeshartelt Castle.

By car from Eindhoven:
Motorway A2 Eindhoven-Maastricht. Follow the motorway untill you enter the traffic lights; turn right and turn right again at the next traffic lights. Follow the Meerssenerweg. After several kilometers exit Weert (on the left side) and cross the railway twice; then you'll drive straight on the drive-way of Vaeshartelt Castle.

By public Transport;
From the train station by bus; it is then another 10 minute walk.
During the weekends we offer a shuttle service against cheaper prices our guests can by a taxivoucher.
