An oasis of calm in the turmoil of central Essaouira! Once found in a dark alley - we let a barrow-man who knew where it was take our bags from the car park just outside the medina - it's a surprisingly light and airy place. Our rooms were on the first floor overlooking the central area, and were spacious and clean. The riad is ideally situated for the medina, the markets and the harbour, and surrounded by hidden restaurants to suit all tastes. Breakfast was excellent, and we'd go back tomorrow.
all reviews » Short walk from Suprotour Bus station. Reception staff offered a Moroccan tea upon arrival to show their hospitality of welcome. The lovely lady owner happened to come to the raid and asked if everything went well. A nice gesture. Wonderful hotel right in the middle of everything. Close to the square and the beach. I didn't manage to get any hot water at all. seagulls kept us awake half of the night. seemed as if they were having a party on the rooftop... Maybe terrace should be better. Attention! I do not recommend for asthmatics!!!. low water pressure, have to wait really long for hot water. Spartan room, smell of damp, indifferent management staff, bedside light hanging off wall by wire, the dreadful echoing of noise through the building due to lack of any soft furnishings to absorb sound, horrible alley full of rubbish outside ... Not a good place to stay. I stayed in a marginally more expensive riad last year and it was beautiful, quiet, staff were welcoming and friendly - another world. Never again!!.
