This hotel was stunning from top to bottom. The staff was friendly, helpful, and so wonderful. The room I shared with my friends was absolutely gorgeous and had an ocean view. It had an en-suite kitchen which was great, and the bathroom was enormous. The entire facility was immaculately clean. Our personal concierge recommended Xcaret to us as an excursion, and it was beautiful. Definitely a great place to visit, especially for a family.
all reviews » We only stayed here one night, but boy, do I wish it was longer.... Pools are fantastic, rooms are well appointed. Ours had a full kitchen and laundry facilities - as well as great sea views. The spa was fantastic also, with very attentive, friendly staff and good attention to detail, and a good service provided. The hotel also has outdoor guest BBQ facilities, which I thought was a great idea. Friendly staff, all very efficient . . . which you need to be at a place this big! Pools are huge and weren't at all crowded when we were there. Nice beach, also not crowded. All the facilities in the room including landry and dryer, activities (i.e. beach foot ball, Tuesday Golf tornament etc.) and beautiful beach! junko from Tokyo, Japan. Didnt sample any of the in-house restaurants, after reading the reviews here that said they were expensive, so we used the mall across the road to eat out in. Too big! There are 575 rooms, and it's like staying at a huge apartment complex. We were in a studio, and the space was used very efficiently, but not a lot of extra room. The location is right in the hotel zone, across from a shopping mall. Not my kind of place. Oceano food service was slow and understaffed when we tried breakfast at 10:30 am. the food and drinks in the bar were very expensive. Shame there wasn't more facilities, but was still well equipped. - Extremely difficult to get anything done through concierge; everything was a process (ex. got re-directed multiple times to multiple people to complete a simple tour booking) - Meals at the hotel were not worth the money at all. Food not so great. Too little gym area. Too few threadmills etc... Lack of elevator access to blocks 7 and 8. Grubby staircase access to these blocks. Lack of comfortable lounge areas to relax outside room and off beach. Very little in on-site shop requires 25 km return trip to Superama. Bad soundproof in rooms, high prices and poor choice in restaurants, noise of the road and of some big industrial machines from neighbour hotel, if you want late check-out - buy one more night, poor wellness-spa kills intention to go there, quite poor of trees. We stayed only 2 nights, but nobody comes to clean the room on the first day. We ask on reception to solve our problem, so only in 5 p.m. somebody comes, but it was too late. Food average. A lot of people in the pool. Small bed for 2 people in standard room - only 150sm. should be all-inclusive. Extraordinarily expensive food - a total ripoff. $60 for breakfast and no alternatives. Persistent staff constantly pester you for tips. Strict staff on the beach who won't let you go for a walk after dark! Overall, awful. We were supposed to have 2 rooms for 4 people and we got one room (a queen bed and an old incomfortable sleeper). For a such expensive hotel we were very disappointed. I would not recommend it at all.
