Great central location. The hotel was a good base to explore Mauritius. We hired a car (booked independently) and went to several sights including the Botanical gardens and L'adventure de Sucre, and beaches that weren't too far away. Pool was good. We didn't do any of the water sports available. Only meal we had at hotel was the buffet breakfast - there was a good selection of items. There are good restuarants around Grand Baie area which are worth exploring. Service at hotel was friendly and h.
all reviews » Excellent all round,not only for family but well positioned in Grand Baie to all excursions, shops, restaurants.It was my daughters 21st birthday and they arranged a cake for her, but better still, which was an extra surprise was that the hotel arranged the Sega dancers to come and dance and sing at our table for my daughter in the Nautic restaurant!! Fillet steak their was excellent!!. The welcoming staff was very good. The woman remembered my name a few days later. I was surprised. The garden, beaches, pool area are magnificent. I felt that having security on the beach day and night was very good. I enjoyed the cuisine but I wish I could have relaxed with coffee.i will definitely recommend this hotel to friends especially my adult sons. Nice hotel which has been set out beautifully along the beach. Walking distance to Grand Bay and a variety of restaurants. Nice beach with plenty of free activities, and lovely pools. Multiple choices for buffet breakfast. Good size rooms with good facilities. 1) rooms are soundproof 2) excellent swimmingpool 3) lots of free water sport activities 4) great view out of room 5) excellent security 6) great location on beach 7) shops and restaurants very near 8) Beach towel service included. The hotel was super clean, location is very nice but the beach is not too long, staff were very friendly, breakfast is delicious, you have a nice view on the pool and the sea together from the resturant. The hotel location and mature tropical gardens are just as displayed in their brochure. The restaurant looks over the blue, clear water Grand Baie. It's on a great location, within 10 mins walk by beach to town centre. Staff are good, food in main restaurant is good. Good for family with kids. The sportevent around the pool and staff around the resort great People all and great buffet all time. Manager of the hotel - Krishna was very professional and helpful for guests. The service is good and the place is clean.Hotel is in Grand Bay, a very good area with no security problem and a lot of shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel is nicely situated close to all amenities. Nothing room musty, boathouse staff arrogant and unhelpful. Not recommended. No wifi access in rooms. Decor in our room starting to look dated. Was a little noisy at night as we could hear the nightly entertainment. The seats in patio was too narrow for me. The noise at night was disturbing as I was above the pool area. I didn't like the pillows. The restaurant was a bit rushed at getting us to leave the table. No room service and bar snacks finished around 6.30pm. If you arrived during the evening, not much on offer to eat unless you go out of the hotel. If you are not on a half board package, meals are on the higher end for a 3 course buffet - need to be hungry. 1) No wi-fi in rooms 2) wi-fi in lobby not always working 3) Drinks and Meals very expensive. The prices for the lunch and dinner buffets were high compared to the food provided. The room furnishings are very spartan and are not of high quality. We only had breakfast at the hotel and although the food was plentiful, the choice and quality were basic. Nothting at all. Staff don't clean up the drinks bottles and BBQ mess from the night before. Not a pretty sight in the morning!. Drink expensive. No internet available in the room and its restaurants are too expensive, even the drinking water in the room is charged!. Not the cleanest hotel I've encountered. The bed we had was old and worn out. Hollow to the middle. Small plumbing problems in the bathroom which they fixed. Rooms are well used. No ocean at all and nothing is written about that....
