The staff were friendly and helpful, the bedroom and bathroom were quite compact but extremely clean and tastefully furnished. The location was perfect for us as it was only a short walk to all the shopping and historical sites that we wished to visit as well as the delightful river cruises.Breakfast catered for both Asian and Western visitors and the coffee was great. We will certainly recommend Gingerflower to our friends.
all reviews » Its a very charming hotel with a good location. It is situated between two main tourist attractions - Jonker Street to the left and the Christ Church area to the right. The hotel is brand new and the rooms exude a Peranakan charm. Amenitiies are just basic, the room is small and cozy and the shower room has a modern feel. I luv how they designed this hotel. Its a class by itself. The location is the best thing about this hotel. You are close enough to the action, only a street away from Jonker Walk, yet it's quiet enough to rest well at the end of the day. The rooms are exceptionally clean and bright. They have made clever use of a skylight in the center of the hotel that filters light all the way from the top floor down. Location (Excellent. It locates in the old town area and is just one block from the Jonker Street.). The hotel is well designed and the room is new and clean. The breakfast is not special but the breads are tasty. To wrap up, I will select this hotel if I have a chance to visit Melaka again. Very well appointed, clean, nice bathroom, big bed, nice decor. Great location near Jonker's Walk and 2 mins to Stadhuys. Quiet despite central location. Friendly staff. My gf was very happy, and she is hard to please!. The rooms are small and the staff were very loud in the mornings, walking up and down the corridor outside our room. The WiFi was not great inside the room. Very slow. The room is small and occupied by the bed, and no writing desk. Little space to keep your clothing. But they provide Coffee/Tea sets on a small table. There is in-room safe box but is not fixed on the wall. Everybody can bring it out because it’s not so heavy. Breakfast is average. Limited parking space available. Breakfast was very basic. People walking along the corridor can be heard so I found it disturbing in the morning when travelers were checking in. Breakfast only western style and very poor. Must be improved. No fruits, no cheese, no ham, no salad, concentrated juice, etc.. Room view only to courtyard. Very compact bedroom Noisy. tap water issue. the room is too small. Room a bit too small with luggages. Soundproofing from door non-existent. Very limited parking. Had to park in public carpark on own. Male reception staff not as friendly. room is small.
