A statndard room with king bed provides a spacious and comfortable stay, made even better by a refrig. And hot pot provided. Where the breakfast at $13 is on the high side, we were able to have a nice continental breakfast in our room using groceries available within walking distance. The pool is large and attractive, and the gym is also a very good size and well equipped. The Pullman is centrally located in Kuching, and we were able to walk easily to activities at the waterfront such as a boat.
all reviews » My husband and I spent 5 nights in a Superior Double room at the Pullman in early October. The staff were all so friendly, the room was superb, clean and a VERY comfortable bed! The hotel is situated on a norrow road with no traffic, so there was no noise at all...we slept like babies every night! The bathroom was huge with a nice bath too. Everything was perfect...we had the buffet breakfast every morning and there were plenty of choices. We would definitely recommend the Pullman who's looking. Great staff who followed up with an email asking how I'd found my stay. Also great location, very close to the waterfront in Kuching, so central for many things. A very comfortable room with everything you'd expect of a hotel of this rating. Really varied breakfast buffet, with something for everyone (including Japanese options and bread and butter pudding that was on a par with my grandmother's!). A very comfortable stay. I stayed at 17th floor and was upgraded to the Excutive room. The room is very spacious and super clean. But the most valuable thing is the view. A whole wall of window of city and river view is very worthy. The bathroom is also super huge and clean. The bed is also very comfortable. The restaurant is also quiet nice. Nothing but the best for this hotel, beautiful view of the Sarawak River, Santubong and entire city, beautiful sunrise and sunset, excellent food, very friendly front desk both on the main lobby and 22nd Floor, 5-Star services all the way, very comfortable bed and fast wifi!! I always travel to the 5 star hotel..I dindt saw the lowest room category like pullman hotel at other hotel...at pullman hotel the lowest room like we are stay at suite room...nice..will come back again soon. fantastic rooms. great location. The hotel has a good range of facilities, bars & restaurants. I was overall satisfied with the stay here and was excellent value. There were 9 of us in a group and one member died in his sleep (heart attack maybe). The hotel provided much needed assistance wherever they could within their means. I would say that under the circumstances the hotel staff was very helpful. Great location with a shopping complex incorporated within the hotel building. There is nothing negative to say about the Pullman, it was all perfect!. There is no actual wifi in the room - you have access the free internet via a cable (provided). However, having experienced "wifi" in a similar hotel in Sibu where the signal kept coming and going and things took forever to up and download no matter where I was in the building, maybe it's smarter to do it the old- fashioned way - the connection was fast :-) There is wifi in the lobby though for those who need it. I ordered a buffet dinner at the restaurant, the food was good but that does not include any soft drinks which is a little bit annoying. None. No free wifi in room and the daily charge for wifi in room was per device. Housekeeping service and standard of attention to detail during daily room clean was variable and erratic. They could have provided breakfast with the room as we noticed other guests had complimentary breakfast included. Breakfast closes as early as 10am, not good for those "not morning person". Although it was ok, for us the breakfast could be a bit better. There was a lot of choice, but we missed good bread in the morning. The spa facility n masseue was terrible. None. 1. The cleaning staff didn't clean our room or change the towels for one day; that was a bit disappointing. 2. Breakfast was quite expensive. However, the pool is slightly small and not really like a 5star hotel pool. It could be better than that.. Sadly,there is no free breakfast included, and extra pay is need for breakfast.. Nothing to be eat or drink in the referigerator. None. The service was slow in the cafe in the foyer and the food was cold when we had lunch in the bar area. No wifi in the rooms. The wifi in the lobby changes the password every 2 hours so we were constantly running over to the desk for the newest password. Was v annoying. What I don't like is that wifi is not available in the hotel room. Not WiFi in the rooms. Staffs should be more friendly. With just greetings and smile would make guess feel being appreciated. The internet connection was extremely disappointing. Very slow. A small point, about breakfast. Pleeeaasse proved marmalade! The jams are so sweet!. Bathroom floor tiles are slippery when wet. Breakfast was average but lots of flies and no soy milk. No wifi in room. Only three niggles: no wifi in the room; phone operators on the "one touch" call system cannot speak and understand English well, and no business centre operating (this is not advertised by a note on the business centre door). Only way to print out documents is to email them to the reception desk and get the staff to print there. None. No WLAN in rooms. no comment. The shopping area is still largely unoccupied. There is no ventilation at bathroom . The basement parking area is not well maintained and smelly. This do not reflect the standard of your hotel. It's a pitty the swimmingpool gets its sun later in the day. Hardrock music in a swimming pool is.... a bit different :-). Basin in bathroom had crack but still okay. The Shopping complex below is getting emptied, Rents must be too high. No Customers. Access to the swimming pool area is through a banquet section. Not only we have to pay for wifi service in the room but the connection is so poor. This is surprising since most 5 star hotels even in third world countries provide free wifi service in all areas. Nothing not to like in this hotel. only critisism i have was there was not enough staff on in the morning to serve coffee clear plates etc during breakfast. Internet connection was rather slow and should not only be limited to the lobby area. The weekend travellers from China & Indonesia!. After a few years it's all getting a bit sloppy and old in the Pullman. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good hotel, but not excellent anymore. My next trip to Kuching I'll try a different hotel perhaps. Information in relation to tours and other options I felt was a little lacking particularly if you were looking to do something other than the regulation tours.
