I like its just infront of syria shopping mall which takes about 1 min to walk across for high end shopping and behind the hotel is wisma merdeka for budget shopping.. So u got the best of both worlds as ur staying in between in such short walking distance... once u check in ur car u can get seasonal parking card for Rm10/ day so u can re-enter and exit as much time as u want as the parking is reserve for u! and with just a rate of RM10 and u must use the parking card to access to the hotel whi.

Very good quality of dinner food at very reasonable prices in comparison with Malaysian standards. Good choice of Malaysian food at buffet breakfast. Very pleasant and soft beds and linen. Fantastic shower with cloud-style jets. Pleasant view to the harbor. Very nice hotel, which was a great pleasant surprise especially for this price. I'm very satisfied with my stay in Gaya centre hotel. I would like to recommend it to others travellers if someone will go to Kota Kinabalu. The hotel staff are so kindly and nice to the guests. The room is very clean and comfortable although it's not so big.Furthermore, it is well equipped with various facilities. I think this hotel is value for money, especially the sea view room and sea view breakfast. The room was quite spacious, with big window (13th floor, city side). It's probably worth to pay a little more for room with view on the see, as it's really nice view. The bathroom is nice, big, with great shower. The localization is amazing, between Suria Sabah, one of biggest shopping malls, and Wisma Merdeka, and 5 minutes walk to Jesselton Point where you can do Island hopping. Highly recommended. The location of the Hotel is very good, close to Wisma Merdeka (where one can find many travel agents which offer different day tours), Suria Sabah (where one can find a lot of restaurants and do shopping comfortably) and at easy walking distance to the jetty for going to other islands. The staff went beyond their job titles to help visitors, the hotel was basic and child friendly, convenient, clean, great service, basic but good meals a great view of mountains and sea with great sunsets as well as being comfortable and most of all, safe. Gaya Centre is perfectly located and one of the best hotels in kk. Situated 5 mins from the Jesselton ferry point and right opposite Suria Sabah mall and Hyatt residency. The buffet breakfast served is continental and the staff exceptional. Recommended. The room is spacious and clean. In the heart of the city. Just a walking distance to Philippine market and KK famous pasar malam(night market). And nearby to Jesselton Point, easy for island hopping activities. I asked to reserve non-smoking sea-view room, but I was given a smoking room. But it was not too smelly. Be careful with iron, it's a bit old and you can easily burn your brand new clothes :(. The free wi-fi connection in the lobby area was very poor. Many guests had to make use of the 2 computer terminals at the lobby which were usually fully engaged in the evenings (though charged cabled connection for internet inside the room was avialble). Quality of breakfast was just fair. Services at restuarant was below average. no complaints. Some simple room services would be nice. Guest parking limited. The hotel caters for very large Chinese family groups. Usually, these families and their children are known to each other leading to children running wild along the hotel corridors in and out of each others rooms whilst squealing at maximum volume!. Nothing serious but the air-conditioner in the lobby did freeze me every time I stayed there or just passed it!!!. maybe too many customers for the hotel, so it ran out of hangers and adapter..... Hotel rated as budget accommodation and deserves a better rating than this. 1st room allocated was smelly. The room is clean but the carpet looks old and dirty. The cafe on level 4 where we had our breakfast is great with sea views. However, the outdoor seating floor was wet in some areas due to the previous night downpour and I thought the staff should be more mindful to keep it dry and clean to avoid any mishaps. The housekeeping wasn't good enough. the carpet in the room was not vacuumed. They even did not make the bed the first day until we complained. They were even stingy with toiletries. There were four of us in the room and they only provided one set of toiletries. Even the toilet roll was not enough. However, they were quick to supply upon request. none, everything is ok based on this price. Nothing major to comment. The breakfast could have been better. Cafe inside looks a bit dated. there were no wifi in the room the room a little bit small. The bathroom stunk....it was the bad drain smell..... Cleaning staff are average Constant loud music in hallway, which can be heard in room, even above your tv. no swimming pool. Although most of the food was well prepared and presented I had a beef patty once that was so over cooked it was like a piece of wood. After a few days the fixed menu became boring and I was there for 30 days. Why not introduce Asians to some western meals. We had several personal messages for us that were left at reception but were not delivered to us or our room and we finally received them two days late. The bar seemed a little expensive. Maybe the hotel should hv varieties of food for breakfast . Eg: by changing the menu every 2 days. I stayed at the hotel for 3days and the same food hv been served. But its not a big deal. The hotel is awesome!. the internet in thr room was slow at times. Nothing. Wished there was wifi in the rooms. hotel location is good but no parking space, parked outside and got police parking ticket, room clean,but carpet got smile.if got something to cleaning the carpet is good and excellent. Bathrooms were clean but smelly. The water sink and the room's wifi do not really work. No slippers provided. Stained water coming out from water tap. Just dirty carpet in the room. my room contain a colony of small ants! and they're fly with me to home... Our is being located right at the end of the floor and higher floor. Room a bit cramp. Breakfast buffet do not have so many varieties. parking is a big problem. You have to pay deposit for almost everything, wifi only in loby (and according to the staff info in floor 12 and 13. No parking for guests! I would like to go to other hotels which provide ample parking for the guest. nothing. Very limited Parking lots. Wifi doesn't really work in the rooms. The room a bit small.
