Our usual Kota Kinabalu hotel was full so we hunted around for another good budget hotel. For us, this means a clean, quiet room with everything working and air con, but we're not after anything else, like freshly painted walls, colour coordination, throw pillows etc!
City Park hotel is a little more expensive than our usual but the place is in a slightly better state of repair. Everything worked and was clean. The aircon was super quiet and the electric shower worked fine.

The staff at City Park Lodge were the best things over there. The rooms
were small and very basic but fine, but even when we missed our flight
early the next morning they were very accommodating and helped us in
whatever way they could!.
Good location, friendly stuff, free wifi and was possible to store luggage.
The cleening was acceptabel, for a backpacker it is a good and cheep hotel. Close to supermarket and has foodchoices nearby. Good wifi in reception!.
Personel was nice.

I didn't like the bathroom very much...their was no separation
between the toilet and the shower. Also, they should put on letsbookhotel.com
that you need to climb up about 50 stairs in order to get to the
reception. Luckily their were some staff members their who were more
than willing to help ith our luggage but letsbookhotel.com should have really
put something on the site.
Non window room is small and gets hot without aircon. However aircon is blowing very strongly, so if it bothers take some other room.
The toilet had not been cleaned.
