I was very grateful for the excellent English ability of the staff. I was overjoyed with the ease and simplicity of getting a tourist visa for Thailand. Every staff member was very friendly. The stuff was very helpful and friendly, I would stay there again if I return. The rooms are big and comfortable and I recommend this hotel.friendly and helpful staff, location, excellent value for money.
all reviews » The roof top open area/ breakfast room, great for meeting friends andhaving drinks, although it could do with a bbq for the Aussie's. The staff went out of their way to help with getting me a room with good WiFi reception for my laptop. A small kettle for boiling water would be better instead of hot flask provided. The aircond stopped at 3am and as we are not familiar we struggle to get it started again. I think the timer should not be on. Sorry 2 ladies not good at gadgets. facilities and building are old, less parking space, bed is already spoilt due to long-time use.One of the staff is not nice. There is no temperature control in my AC. Cracked sink, stained carpet, worn sheets. No bed linen change in 3 days.No temperature control of aircon so had to switch off at night.It is a little out of the way from the action in Georgetown, but walking a few blocks is all it takes. The room is in need of a coat of paint. The reception staff were not interested in the hotel guests and seemed to regard us as something of an imposition. A smile and a ready "hello sir" would go down well. Instead we were often ignored and had to attract their attention in order to get served.It is a very old hotel, with very old furnitures in the rooms. It is also one of the most expensives hotels in the area. You can have much better for this price!. breakfast with very limited choice of food. Breakfastservice was poor, very poor choice of foods (no cheese no ham) we had to pay extra for two fried eggs (3 RM) and the coffee was very undrinkeble like water and the staff during breakfast was very unfriendly!!! In the voucher was written that there was free internetservice but they try to get money for the internet too. I experienced that as very unpolite act. Breakfast service was bad the choice was very poor and you had to pay rm3,- for your eggs. Many things: Haunted type, no pickup of luggage by hotel staff (no staff available), Breakfast extra charges for eggs!!!, No remote for TVs, TVs having no channels of interest, mosquitoes problem, etc. Rooms very poor condition, Food very poor and little choice.

We are a 50 room hotel with spacious, air-conditioned rooms with attached bathrooms. All rooms are equipped with TV, mini bar and IDD telephone.

Travelling information

From the Train Station:

Follow the signs which lead you to the ferry terminal which is adjacent to the train station (5 mins walk). The journey to Georgetown terminal is approximately 20 minutes.

From the terminal, a 3 minute walk takes you to the taxi/bus stand. The journey through the streets of Georgetown should take approximately 10 minutes. You can also try the trishaws (Please enquire about the fare before boarding a taxi or trishaw).

By car;
-Turn left as you come out from the ferry terminal. -You are now in Jalan Pengkalan Weld.
- Make a right at the first right turning and you will be in Chulia Street.
-Continue along this street and it will lead you to the end where it meets Penang Road and Argyll Road.
-You will see Veenai Odeon cinema right in front of you.
-There is a road divider ahead which blocks your passage to Argyll Road.
- Turn left into Penang road and take the first right into Dato' Koyah road and another right into Clarke Street.
- You will see the MAA Building as you make a left into Argyll road.
-The hotel is just 3 doors from the MAA building. -You will notice a Caltex petrol station on your left before reaching the hotel.
