Our party was formed of two couples with small babies and my parents in law and having just come back from an amazing stay at the Voyager we can thoroughly recommend it. The beautiful beachside location and facilities are excellent but what really added to our stay were the really friendly, professional and polite staff there. We were treated like VIPs throughout our stay and all of the Voyager staff made us feel like we were among friends rather than in a hotel. From our welcome on arriving.
all reviews » My boyfriend and I loved this place! It was our first stay in an all- inclusive hotel ever and what an experience it was! The place offers delicious food, free alcoholic drinks, evening programs, also has sport equipment to rent, a clean pool, and it's right next to the sea. Did I mention a ton of food and drinks? And the absolutely best thing is: once you check out you can still use all of the facilities and food/drinks/equipment. Also what we found very relaxing - no need to tip people all th. The staff were outstanding, so friendly and helpful.the hotel is on a lovely private beach with a remarkable view. There are loads of activities, excursions available, in house entertainment, you do not need to leave the resort. Food was AMAZING, so much variety and really high quality. Cannot recommend it enough. Great honeymoon destination, not much could be better. All inclusive great value, could not eat or drink more!. I travel always for business worldwide. In the Voyager Beach Resort I felt just in paradise, I never relaxed more than in these holidays. The food choice and quality was excellent, every day different food offer. The staff was always friendly even if not tipped. Fantastic green garden resort, and super view over the indian ocean. What else to add: simply fantastic !. I like that is was on the beach. It is not the pretties of beaches but it is on the beach. I like the options of pools and that I was in a garden unit. I like that they try to organise entertainment every night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Also they organise sporting activities every day. Kept you busy. The hotel was great. Loved the all inclusive and hence the budget friendly tag. Once u pay you don't have to think of too many other expenses. There is stuff for kids to do as the parents relax. Liked the theme nights that were followed even in the food menu and traditional dances. The staff were very friendly. I enjoyed the location, directly by the beach. And the extreme friendliness of the staff. From the welcome to the farewell , I have been impressed. The offer of a room to shower and change before heading to our flight in the afternoon was one of the nicest gesture from an hotel in a long time!. Everything from room to personal and fod was far over expectation.We couldent find anything to complain about. The location is perfect in every aspect. We have had the possible to stay at many places around the World. This one of the best in this class. The hotel kept up to all our expectations and we still have sweet memories from our stay. Large resort, well kept gardens and lawns. Three swimming pools, one for adults only. Very friendly and smiling staff. Good food with sufficent variation in buffet meals. the design of the hotel and the land scape is wonderful its interesting to just have a walk in the hotel. the food is good. its an excellent place for relaxation. Lots of fun. Voager Resport was just a paradise for me, with my needs for a bit of luxury, relaxation in calm atmosphere, just perfect. Staff. loved that my room was on the beach. the staff were very friendly and even got a chance to hold some turtles that were floating around in the of the resort ponds. Food was amazing esp the Kenyan dishes. the upgrade to the inclusive is worth it as it includes lunch and access to the water sports. and you must try the head, neck, shoulder and back massage, unbelievable, the women have magic fingers, however the rooms are not as private as the doors are made in a way that you can actually see into. On a Short business Trip to Mombasa, had two nights at the Voyager. Closed to airport and so good if you have a business trip to town. Food was ok, first night not a good shift, second day was great. Would not recommend the the Italien and Seafood Resturant , all over priced. The staff is very helpful. Book in any case "all in" other wise it is getting expensive. At times in the restaurant it can take a while for drinks to be served. Shower was rather weak. Step on the beach (or even hover on the steps above) and you will get hassled hard by irritating beach hustlers that refuse to go away. (Not unique to Voyager -it's a Mombasa thing). None of these detracted from an amazing time however. The "beach boys" harassing you every time you intend to go to the beach or have a swim. It is not the hotels fault, but be careful - they will want to talk, sell you stuff, or take you places. Also our room was freshly painted in the toilet so there was a slight stench but it was no problem. You have to pay for the wifi or go to the beach and steal it from the other hotel :). Loud music near kids pool for water aerobics in the morning, when you want a lie in, it can be a little noisy after 9. IF I booked again, I would book room away from kids pool, as it was honeymoon. There lovely quiet spot near 'relax' pool. Bit of hassle on the beach from touts, some were a little pushy. WiFi is only in the reception area. That was bugging. The toilet appeared to leak a little but we were there only for two nights so it didn't bother me too much. The aircon in the room was abit difficult to manoever and so ideal temp was hard to find. The continual harassment from vendors on the beach. In fact, if we do not go back to the Voyager, it will be the problem that will tip our decision! Rooms are a bit tired, food was repetitive after 4 days. Nothing. Animation team should pay more attention to the guests, not to themselves. Speaking in svahili language when arround many english speaking people, is not very polite :). The wifi internet is fairly pricey and only available in the lobby. A wifi hotspot nearer the rooms would be great. Our room (de luxe ocean view) was very worn out and needs urgent refurbishing. Housekeeping sometimes late and room cleaned late afternoon. the rooms needs some renovations. Room bathroom need are out dated. Need refurbishing, even though is clean and comfortable. The rooms needs renovation. The AC is very noisy. They care more for outside ( pools, bars & garden) The massage place is not clean enough. They need wifi all over the resort. I didn't like that I was expected to pay a daily fee to utilise the in-room safe and that the internet availability was limited to a very small level and only available on purchasing vouchers. For the price this hotel charges, these facilities should be included without an additional fee. ..the room was neat but could pay more attention to cleansiness.. Only wi-fi in reception that was inconvenient. The rooms could be a kept cleaner. The bathrooms renovated a little. The plumbing was not very good. I almost missed my flight due to lack of taxi to.airport. your staff should be more proactive. worn out bath towels and sheets. Slow response to complaints.Didn't have hotwater for two days in the Superior rooms. They could do better with Towels-too old for any room in Such a Hotel . Maybe time for refurbishing the bathrooms and it's a bit pricy. The accountant did not respond appropriately to my querry and complaint concerning double billing at the time of check out. We had paid by credit card before check. He didn't bother to verify this information before debit ting the card again. Too many hustlers posted on the beach, which became irritating if you wanted to leave the facility grounds. to pay for the safety box - it is very little but annoying lack of internet. NO...NO....NO.....NO...Internet Option in the room "Com'n It's 2013"....Even if you have to pay for internet....."Give us an option". Staff very slow with service especially drinks at pool and bar.spent most of the time walking to the bars trying to get a drink maybe cause I was all inclusive.standards have dropped from my last visit. Nothing. Facilities were kind of old and worn. the bathrooms were below standard, our shower didn't work properly and the hot water tap didn't work either. Due to the bad weather we were bringing a lot of water into the room and found it hard to keep a clean space due to the small rooms. due to the bad weather we were cooped up in our room more then we wanted and it wasn't the best place to be in. Room was simple furnitured, the complex needs urgent a total revamp!! It is also cheap, so you get what you pay for! It is max 3*.... Enjoyed my stay, and will return for two or three night. Musty smell in bedroom Very dirty filter on air cond. We found glass in my wife's food, reported it. It nothing was done. My wife as accosted by 2 drunk men at one of the pools and hassled, again we reported it but nothing was done. Electricity was on an off all week while we were there. Very expensive if not all inclusive. Cleanliness of bathroom, towels collected in morning and replaced late afternoon. the beach front rooms not very well kept, the lack of cleansing in our room, lack of staff presence (we had to organize our own room for the night), food not great. Long distance from room to restaurant. Salt water in shower. The resturant staff, cant remember the man's name now absolutely rude and unproffessional inlcuding the manager on duty at dinner on 7/09/2013. they spoiled my whole vacation by how rude they were. I shall not be returning or recommending. Sorry. Very old bedrooms Showers not usable and very old Definitely needed renovation Staff very average. Furniture very old.
