Staff were friendly and we tried to tip the valet, but she refused our money and later we were advised by Japanese friends that this is customary as hotel already charges tax. It was very honest of her. Also, family room was spacious and fantastic. Very comfortable hotel in great location for Kyoto jr station for bullet trains to Osaka, tokyo and Hiroshima. Free parking and very friendly staff who gave us a an upgrade for being in honeymoon.
all reviews » Close to main station with free shuttle bus all day every 15 minutes. Helpful for getting about during the stay as well as arriving and leaving. Good size bedroom by Japanese standards. A plus is the location close to the main station with its impressive shopping mall "Isetan". Convenient for having a casual evening with a cool light show. Clean, good position close to Kyoto station, very good service. Free water bottles provided everyday and free shuttle bus to the station. The hotel was conveniently near Kyoto station. The concierge was supper helpful in helping plan our days. Nice clean room, good location on walking distance from Kyoto train station. Nice breakfast. We had a room service waiter the 2nd night who refused to ome in wt the tray and insisted I sign the inoice whilst I was holding the tray! Everyone Else was fibe. Maybe he had a bad day. Nothing. Breakfast is way to expensive for what you get. A bit pricey. Like too many hotels in Japan, there is an excesive charge to use the pool, I think I recall $20 equivalent with no child discount. This is highly irritating given one would reqsonable use it for about an hour at most. If you're looking for a hotel with a pool, look elsewhere. None. The swimming pool and spa facilities were not included :(. Room a little small for 4 people, but that was okay. check in not available in morning. The room we were in smelled of smoke although I requested for a non-smoking room. The air-conditioner is not cool. Had to pay for coffee in room Swimming pool was not free. That quad rooms were not available on non-smoking floors. Beds were too soft. We asked for non smoking room but our room smelled of smoke. when we feedback, they only sent a cleaner to spray some solution. My daughter got bed bugs bite all over her body. We had to see doctor immediately when we return home. value for many.
