all reviews » A perfect hotel if you'd like to get away from the japanese business hotels with the small rooms. If you are traveling as a family or if you are older, this is the best choice in Kyoto as far as I'm concerned. The hotel is located on a rather busy street with lots of shops and restaurants, and also just a few minutes from the Kyoto shiyakusho-mae subway station, that will take you to and from Kyoto station. Just walk across the street and a bit further in and you'll find one of Kyoto's busiest . This hotel was fantastic to stay in - from the staff to the facilities and the rooms, it is great value for money. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and found that the hotel was absolutely lovely. it is also a great location with a subway station 1 minute walk away and within 15 minutes of lots of shopping and great restaurants. This area has lots of cheap and cheerful eateries which are absolutely great too!. The room was very spacious and clean, very comfortable bed, the shower was excellent, nice shower head that had strong water pressure. The location of the hotel makes it easy to get around Kyoto, the city bus route 205 is just outside the hotel, with Shijo-Kawaramachi area which is a vibrant shopping district of the city. If you have the misfortune of having a breakfast voucher and are determined to use it, be prepared for a long wait in the mornings (line snaked to the lobby) and chaotic service. A total breakdown--everyday. Do yourself a favor and go to the many nearby coffee shops--cheaper, faster and less stress. Non. The hotel restaurant was a little to expensive for us. There were no vending machines in the building so we had to walk to the convenience store. Breakfast not included. Nothing to complain. Rather small bathroom, a bit bleak compared to the rest of the hotel. Both nights we stayed at the hotel we were woken by the most horrendous mechanical noise coming from the spa on the third floor. I phoned the front desk to complain (as I am sure many people did-it was that bad). They offered to send someone up but I suggested that they go straight to the floor below ours to check it out. I mentioned this again when we checked out and they offered an apology but nothing more. "Spa" does not mean they have bathing facilities or sauna. They seem to have massage and cosmetic services, but this "Spa" was closed during our stay. no wi-fi in room, but 2 computers in the lobby with internet. No negative comment can be made. Fair distance from jr kyoto station (though bus access was simple). Room a bit small. A little bit noise in the night, BUT consider of the great location its acceptable. small room hard pillow. Very little we didnt like. An exhaust fan in the bathroom could have been helpful. First night we had to stay in a smaller room than the one we booked. Seemed like there was a booking problem with letsbookhotel.com. Absence of fitness room. It terms itself a Spa and emphasizes health, but some basic fitness facility is absent. The room was very tiny. Long walk to laundrette. Wish shops are nearby, however, there's not much in hakuba. The buffet breakfast offered a limited choice of food - especially fruits!. Expensive breakfast and buffet No coffee available in he rooms (only tea !). It doesn't have safe box. The room is very tiny. Need to have skin lotions for after showers. Meals are expensive. The facilities in the room are slight lypoor. Lack of air purifier. No coffee/tea or mineral water to offer. None. Breakfast had large selection, but was very expensive ($24USD), and was of marginal quality. I would skip the breakfast and eat in one of the many nearby restaurants or bread shops. Hotel is very "corporate", with not a lot of charm.
