A truly Japanese experience. We hand a japanese style room, with a picture postcard view of the lake and mount fuji in the distance. Upon arrival, we were served tea in our room. The large room was partitioned with a sliding japanese screen doors, dividing the bedroom and seating areas. We opted for the shared bathroom (there is a toilet in the room). We really didn't know what to expect. It's a traditional, segregated male and female, bathing area. Just what we all needed after a busy day sigh.
all reviews » spacious room with own terrace and bar makes me more relaxing while looking to the lake in front of me. during afternoon before dinner , walking in lake for about 5 mins walk from hotel is very convenient.and we try the japanese style room! was fantastic! should really try to first time in japan.they have also shuttle bus which u can ask to pick u up in nearest station.thier english is pretty understable so probably it will be good enough to zero percent japanese langauage.lots of near japanese. Everything. This fantastic hotel was classy, quiet, discrete and refined. The Japanese style room was gorgeous. The staff were extremely helpful, and did so much extra to make our stay comfortable - they even drove us to the train station when we were running late. Japanese breakfast was elegant. Wifi available in lobby was excellent. Location and views were great, and transport was not an issue. English speaking staff was a lovely surprise. Needless to say, I highly recommend staying at this h. I thought the staff were extremely helpful (they had even made their own map) and the rooms were very comfortable. I really loved the library and the open fire coupled with the hot tubs were very relaxing. The views of Mt. Fuji were amazing and the food was exquisite! I disagree with a previous reviewer that the food was over priced as you pay for quality! The restaurant was excellent and the way the time things to the second for your meal was a truly terrific experience!. We were there at the end of November. Location was spot on, not too remote and within cycling distance to north and south of Kawaguchi lake. Free shuttle to and fro train station was provided. Hotel was tastefully decorated with Christmas ornaments. The top floor room and onsen bath with unblocked Mt Fuji view was superb. Free bike rental. Restaurant which serves valued-for-money dinner, with cosy ambience and good selection of christmas songs. Highly recommended. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The view of Mt Fuji is amazing and visible from not only your room but also the onsen, rooftop jacuzzi, bar, restaurant and reception. Service was brilliant. The food was incredible, I would highly recommend having breakfast and dinner at the hotel. We stayed in a japanese room and it was just as beautiful as we imagined it would be. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax and see Mt Fuji. The place was located perfectly! The nearest convenience store was a bit far though but you can borrow a bike from the lobby! The facilities are really nice, a bit old but still neat! The bar is great to relax. Shared bathroom was a bit awkward at first but you'll get used to it. Haha. The staff was friendly and helpful! The view of the lake and mt,fuji from the rom was great! Overall, your best bang for the buck!. The staff and owner were very kind and helpful. They even gave us Japanese breakfast for free which was delicious. The sukiyaki dinner we had also very delicious, the owner taughts us how to properly eat it. The overall property is very clean and onsen was ver relaxing. Clean, eventhough a bit old. We stayed at the western room on top floor and had the magnificent view of mount fuji. Amazing!. Perfect location, actually much closer to town than I thought it would be. They lent us bicycles all day for free and we could easily get to the convenience store in about 5 minutes by bike. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us to use the bikes and other facilites after we checked out while we were waiting for our overnight bus to leave. We were met by a very elegant and personable Junko Yamashita at the reception desk! She is one of the owners and an absolutely wonderful woman. She made my girlfriend and I feel very special. She went out of her way to help us our entire stay! Staff service was great and the food was amazing! Thanks again Junko! Can't wait to come back again!. The staffs of Mizuno Hotel all are good customer service especially Ms. Yamashita Junko. She always show her care & concern on the customer. Highly recommend to anyone who interest to stay at countryside for the gorgeous view & different interior design of hotel in Japan. This experience have the excellent impression & memorable. Facilities in public bath was great, however water seems to be too hot for us. Sauna was great too but rather small. Dinner and breakfast spread was excellent! We also like the xmas deco, ambience of the pub and the free bicycle rental. Driver of shuttle service was very friendly and helpful. In conclusion, highly recommended!. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered to take us to the town/bus stops, etc. whenever they were going which was often. The view was fantastic. The location is great for visiting the numerous art museums in the area. The Ichi Kubota Kimono museum is a not to miss experience. The tea room was out of this world. We loved the location and the hotel. It was very quaint. The staff were fabulous - nothing was too much trouble. We were picked up from the airport at 9.30pm by the courtesy bus. We hadn't eaten, so the driver went to the grocery store and waited whilst we went and bought some food. We loved our stay. Excellent and helpful staff. We were able to update the hitting Typhoon Wipha status and check with local updated news (for Japanese travellers like us!!!) if the public transportation would be unavailable or problematic - before moving further to Tokyo. It's a very critical point at time .... This hotel has a perfect location to view Mt. Fuji, and the rate is very reasonable. The embience of the hotel is classic especially the fireplace, the lobby and the dining area. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The double bed was small for 2 person. Indoor smoking at hotel lobby. The location is quite far and up of the small hill. Don't expect to walk there. the free shuttle service is nice, however the schedule is very tight (free only between 3 to 6 pm for check in and 7 to 10 am for check out). So basically if u stay 1 night like us, u just stay in the hotel. The food and drinks at the restaurant and bar are over-priced. It's a shame because it really discouraged us from spending time there and enjoying the nice view. Can't think of any. There was nothing we didn't like. With a hotel provided transportation completely helps our group from burden of climbing a greeny hill where the hotel is steepy located. We in turn can overwhelmingly enjoy a top view of the lake and Mt. Fuji. A little out the way from town. Bathroom was small (typical of japanese hotel rooms). Hotel was not easy to find by ourselves. - The japanese-style room is nice but it would be nicer if they change the washbasin and maybe all of the toilet part. They are too old and the design there is kinda weird. - Since I slept near the toilet part, I kind of smell something from there. Before I went there, I stayed at Japanese-style Ryokan in Kyoto, They have a really good design on how to separate the sleeping part from toilet part. All you need to fix is design. - There's no cool-mode air-conditioner. - We preferred the Western style room, the Japanese room was an experience but for us not comfortable enough so we changed to a Western style room; - no other negative points, definitely a strong recommendation;. Rooms are rather small and look old. The western breakfast is over-priced. The food at the hotel restaurant is overpriced and there were no convenience stores nearby. Had to take a 10min walk down a slope to get to the nearest restaurant out of the hotel. No concerns. Rooms deccor could be bit refreshed. The hotel is up on a steep hill but that is why it have a great view. It's too early to us that we must check out before 10:00 am. Did not realise it was so far away from road which would have been no problem if I had been fully mobile. My fault though as read lakeview as lakeside. - Hotel is a little bit dated. Great food, amazing meals, worth the extra few ¥. I wanted a larger selection of beer, but that's not really very important. room/balcony is a bit old. toliet and shower are a bit old. But i am ok coz I mainly use onsen area for shower. Mt. Fuji view is block by another mountain. You can't see full Mt. Fuji from here. Nothing ..everything here is worth for great accommodation!!!. The hot springs are not mixed and then you have to go all naked not even in swimming costume! It was very frustrating as this wasnt mentioned on their website so felt like disappointment that I couldn't go. And then the day of the check in we arrived at 2pm, check in is at 3pm, they refused to give the room before!!!. it is quite a hike up towards the hotel but it is best to arrange the time the shuttle goes down the hill to time a lift which isnt a problem.
