The most amazing thing about Giardino dei Melograni is the staff. Lovely, kind and helpful people, from the two young ladies at reception (Giordana and Eleonora) to the maid, to the lady responsible for breakfast. They're not just polite, they're genuinely nice. They go out of their way to help you (with internet problems, museum tickets, directions, information, etc.) and make you feel very welcome, all with a great big smile. It means a lot, especially when you're traveling on your own in an .
all reviews » The location was excellent. It was fairly easy to find after leaving the waterbus from the airport; and in a good spot to get to all of the “must see” sights. It was lovely to return to the relative calm of the beautiful square, where the hotel was situated, at the end of a busy day of walking and taking all that is La Serenissima. The staff were very friendly; the breakfast was super; the room was simply furnished yet comfortable and the air-conditioning worked. It was really good value for. Hotel's got quality feel to everything in it. Be aware that hotel is located in jewish square of Venice. We didn't see much of it inside the hotel, but on the square and in the shops around you will see guys in religious closing doing their stuff. I don't have a problem with that, so I enjoyed my stay very much. Quiet location, great security, informative helpful staff, very clean, reasonably priced with good sized bathroom having a tub/ shower with useful hand spray head ( I have stayed at other pricier hotels with trendy 'rainfall' shower head fixtures that 'totally' use-less for cleaning the body). Everyone is very nice here. The breakfast is wonderful. We enjoy a lot our stay in this hotel. Next time when we come back we will choose again this hotel. Location is not far from landmark like san mark's square or rialto bridge but because street of venice is something like maze, it's difficult to locate somewhere I wanted to get to from this hotel. Nothing. Breakfast if poor. I had no complaints. The shower wall didn't seal 100% so the floor became a big puddle after! But it evaporated fast :). Ventilation system from the Kosher restaurant down stairs needs work. Fumes from the restaurant set off the fire alarm three times in one night. Fumes are especially bad in rm 214. Restaurant and hotel are two separate entities which creates a confusing layout of the facility. Problem with the hot water, less of the cosmetic goods, we wanted to use shampoo, but there wasn't any. The map of the city which the hotel offerd us was white and black and it was not great option. The wifi was very inconsistent and generally did not work while we were there. Shower lacked curtains, wet floor after shower. WiFi was not working in the room. no airconditioning in october. nothing!. There is no wifi in room. I stayed in 3rd floor, I had to go to 2nd floor to get the internet. It is very not inconvenience. Wifi doesn't work on the 3rd floor. could have a nicer bathroom. Poorer breakfast but it´s kosher therefore we respected it:). No Wifi in room. It was wery hard to find that hotel, very poorly signposted. The shower was not good. Our third floor attic room (301) had small windows so high up (6 feet/2 meters) we couldn't see anything out of them except for a sliver of sky. Also, they barely opened. This made the room claustrophobic and deprived us of any view of Venice. The AC is not working properly so we cannot sleep well at night. Breakfast timings should be earlier than 8am. The breakfast room was very conjusted. - hard to find once in Venice - breakfast room small and crowded - receptionist only at desk during the day. Only one chair in the room. Strange and poor breakfast with just kosher bread. Only instant coffea. Crowded and not tided up after earlier guests. And the elevator down to the breakfast room and back could not be used because of sabbath! It would have been nice if the hotel announced on the website that it was sabbath from thursday to sunday during our stay. Lack of Brand on the building (I hardly find out that the location in front of me was in fact the hotel) Few breakfast items (the existing ones were tasty thaw). Reception closes at 8 pm, so make sure you check in before. No water in the frigo bar, the shower did not work properly, a public door close to my room produced a lot of noise in the morning.
