This hotel is a gem. The room was fantastic, easy walk to San Marco and the staff was lovely. I would highly recommend it. If you are physically impaired, access is difficult as it it on the third floor (only 5 glorious rooms). This place should be 4 stars!!!. This was perfect for a short stay in Venice. Nice and close to the centre. Accommodation was spacious and clean.Peaceful hotel, good location, clean and tidy, beautifully decorated.

Guess this is the norm in Venice but we were nevertheless surprised.I booked a room in the Residenza Ae Ostreghe, and somehow they put me in a different place.. it was smaller and decorated different to the one i had booked. There is no reception and when an emergency occurs at night you have to wait for the ambulance at the door to let the paramedics in. The italian medical staff is a disaster. They arrived very late and couldn't speak English just some french. It was like a nightmare...there was no sign outside the entrance to make it clear that was the hotel but we just asked a local and found it pretty easily after that. Hard mattress on the bed. The manager was not a big help to us, we had to drag our bags up 3 filghts of stairs while he watched and the same with leaving. The rooms are on the second floor with no lift, so bear this in mindwhen arriving with luggage or people who have difficulty with stairs. Itwasn't really a hotel as such (ie no breakfast, bar etc), more of acomfortable room to stay in.This hotel is incredibly difficult to find and no one is particularly helpful in doing that. For my taste the rooms are too formal and stark. Carpets are needed by the bedside.The staff could be a lot more helpful and give suggestions as to places to eat or places to avoid. We ended up paying 16 euros for a watery vegetable soup!.
