Absolutely loved it. The owner, Matteo came and met us at Rialto Bridge, from there it was a few minutes walk to the hotel. St Marks square was just a few minutes walk too. We were upgraded from out triple room (on the canal, which was delightful) to two very large adjoining rooms on the canal, with a double length balcony! It was stunning. Decor very Venetian, beds comfortable, nice flat pillows which I love, hot water everyday, modern bathroom, nice and warm and a great location. There are um.
all reviews » The experience of staying here was excellent even before we arrived! As we were arriving really late into Venice, Matteo assured us it was no problem to meet us at San Marco vaporetto and walked us to the B&B! A nice touch so late at night! The B&B was perfectly located just a few minutes walk from St Marks square and less than 10 from Rialto bridge - generally close to everything we wanted to see and do as a tourist! Matteo was also a great support in helping us find details of train . I wanted a convenient location to the opera, La Fenice, and that was great. I enjoyed the proximity to San Marco. Wonderful location and super friendly staff. We enjoyed our breafast of croissants and toasts with juice and fresh coffee daily! We felt very much at home. I am an artist and like to sketch, my husband found a wonderful canal area near the Minelli and asked to borrow a folding chair for me. I was in sketchers heaven bantering back and forth with the gondoliers! and drawing. Such a b. The place is very nice, near the main sightseeing places. We arrived by water from airport and just had a five minutes walk through St.Mark's square.Matteo was very friendly and super helpful. He met us at the theater and showed the right way. There is no lift, but he will help you with the luggage if you need. The room is very clean, bathroom is big ind clean also. Breakfast can be served in your room also. Overall it's no less than 9,5 out of 10. Wi-fi is very good too. We are happy about eve. This is a fantastic place to experience Venice for real. It like you have rented a studio apartment on a canal with gondola going past and picture postcards out every window. 5 mins from Piazza San Marco. The breakfast is delivered via a tea trolley and is excellent. Venice is incredible and this stay will add to that experience. Lovely people and awesome location. Do yourself a favour, save €100 (I know, a lot of money but the ferry for 4 was €60) and get a water taxi to the airport from righ. Matteo was great. Couldn't have been more helpful and very intersting to talk to. I loved that the updated rooms were in-keeping with the age of the building and his recommendations were spot-on when it came to directions and places to dine. The room was tasteful, shower was great, and the fire/heater an added bonus after getting soaked through. Breakfast was a very nice continental one and we were satisified. Area was handy to everything and I would recommend Palazzo Minelli for your Venice s. The place was beautiful, very clean, comfortable and our room backed onto a canal so we were serenaded by gondola guides throughout the day which was lovely - very authentic. I was very ill during my stay and couldn't leave the apartment at check out time as I was too ill. My husband asked the owner if we could pay to extend our checkout but as the room was free that night he let us stay until we had to get the train that afternoon. Very generous and well run place. Would definitely return. Great location, St. Marco square and Rialto bridge just minutes away by walking. Had 2 connecting double rooms one with the bathroom to be shared; the other had a balcony overlooking 2 small canals with heavy gondola traffic - fun to watch from above. Excellent location (very close to the opera, Teatro La Fenice), very pleasant personnel, good services (we were awaited at the ferry stop and guided to the hotel), spacious room with canal view (sometimes a little bit noisy, but in the morning one can enjoy the passing of gondola’s with singers on board!), this hotel has an excellent price-quality relationship. Warmly recommended!. Wonderful location for being in the heart of venice. Staying in a typical Venetian Palazzo with serenading gondoliers passing by the window was very atmospheric. We were interested in knowing that George Sand had spent time in palazzo Minnelli .Matteo is an excellent host and very helpful. Will certainly go back. Lovely old building in a very very quiet part of town, even though it is only about 8 mins walk from St Marks Square. Giovanni was very nice, accomodating and helpful and the woman who handles breakfasts was also very sweet and too great care of us. The hotel itself sits right on a canal and you have the song of gondoleers any time you open the window (we had a nice corner window). Really a very nice experience. The location of the hotel was perfect as it was halfway between Rialto bridge and San Marco Square, yet tucked away in the smaller canals. The two separate bedrooms makes this an ideal place for a family with children at an affordable cost. Great location in the middle of Venice. Even under 95f heat wave without AirCon (which is normal in Venice), the room does not feel hot at all. Great canal view, very entertaining to watch and listen to some singing. Get off at Ralito Bridge, and head for Calle Mandola, then left on Rio Verona, over the canal to Ateneo Veneto, and you're almost there. Plus ask for extra blankets if it's not summer. Sorry Matteo but the wifi was terrible. It might have been free but fell off 3 times in about 10 mins until I just couldn't be bothered anymore. Only negative really apart from the two very long flights of stairs - but we did expect those in Venice. Mind you it would have been nice to have a young guy like you run the bags downstairs for us. Would not let that put us off staying again though. Nothing. You need to be independent as this is a B&B with just a few rooms in 16th century palazzo; just don't expect a regular hotel and service and you will be fine. House therefore is older, 2 flights of stairs, limited amenities. Everything was great !. Breakfast was very basic relative to the room cost, consisting of a croissant, coffee, a glass of orange juice, and dried bread and butter. With the exception of the coffee, all of it was processed food. Nowhere in the world have I experienced such a basic breakfast for £160 per night room cost. Nothing! We had a great stay!. Carrying small children and luggage up the two flights of stairs, but it wasn't a big deal. It was very hard to find, but once we were there it was in a great location. Not a problem for us, but 2 steep staircases to our room would make this place an unwise choice for the elderly, disabled or those with v young children. It was rather difficult to find, and the check in procedure was rather unprofessional, probably because the person there was on her own. Turned up for breakfast on our second morning to find no-one about, so had to get elsewhere.No air con and it was very hot. The pillows were terrible. Nothing....loved it all. Early morning freight traffic on canal. Photos of room shown is not of the actual room. I would have preferred yogurt along with my coffee and croissant. Perhaps a boiled egg. NOTE: this is only a preference, the coffee and croissant were excellent. Very steep steps to the room but we had help getting our bags up. Rooms need refurbishing. Amazingly the noise from the water taxis because of the tight turn in the canal. This could start very early. No shampoo in the bathroom. They didn't answer the door when we first arrived. The entrance is a little cluttered with art and books. need a little more variety for breakfast. Bed bit hard low water pressure. Venice is very hot and can be humid in the summer. Although the apartment was air conditioned, it was a portable machine which required the window to be opened slightly to vent the machine. Parts of the shower pipe to hold the shower head was broken. Walk up building like many place in Europe so pack light. Booking was screwed up. Only had us down for one room instead of two. Staff sorted it out. Place is a bit run down. WiFi very slow and kept dropping out. We stayed at a room (or small apartment) on the top floor of a house, with a (very) small kitchen and bathroom.Comfort and quality was somewhat minimal, not in line with the price, but the most surprising was the breakfast (for two). 2 croissants, a pack of industrial toast, and make your own coffee with and old chalky coffee-pot. This was the most pathetic breakfast I ever had and certainly not what you expect for +300$ a night!. dirty, staff not available, smells bad and showers didn't work well.
