all reviews » Locanda Silver is located in a very convenient, central location in Venice. The facility is well-maintained, air-conditioning worked well, and the breakfast was plentiful. The staff was helpful with directions. Kátia is awesome! She made the difference. She is funny and is always smiling and even not speaking English she provided everything we need by reading our eyes (and always keeping his smile). Wonderful location, exactly in the city center- but still quiet at night. Air conditioner is a big plus in summer. The staff was really friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is situated in a very cute place, on a quiet street/canal but only 5 minutes to San Marco. The staff was very kind and helpful. Also the breakfast is good. i've stayed there before and would gladly stay again. simple, friendly unfussy multilingual staff, outstanding location, clean comfortable room, good breakfast. Brilliant location - just 5 minutes from San Marco piazza. Very easy to reach. The room was spacious enough for two people. Our room was pretty small for 4 adults but who stays in the room in Venice!!. The rooms seems too old. Reception is not open 24 hours, but at 3 am they close the main entrance- we had problems entering the hotel at night :(. A shared bathroom is rather old but clean and tidy. can't think of any dislikes. There is no opportunity to have a cup of tea or drinking water in the evening. You may buy a bottle of water from the fridge, but on our first day we did not know it. The floor was a bit dusty too. No free wi-fi. It doesn´t have wifi included in the price. You can use a computer of the hotel, but is very slow. If you want fast wifi, then you have to pay for it. Room might be very cold in cold weather because window insulation is poor. A bit too expensive. Tricky to access, but just takes time to know or get a feel of streets. mosquitos. No lift - no problem for us but might be a problem for others. The only problem if you have big luggage because 3 floor with difficult steps. - Had to drag luggage up stairs - internet was complicated to use in room (needed password, expired quickly, etc). - dismal decor in room. Coffee way too weak and tasteless!. No tv in the bedroom. Small room no tv no tea making in room. hard to find.... just like anything else in venice though. Wi-Fi isn't included in room cost. Owners a littlñe bad mannered. excellent dispose from workers. While the hotel was clean enough, it was a bit grimmey. It was a good spot for touring, but not if you intend to enjoy, hanging out in a luxury hotel. Sleep, shower, change is what this spot is for. The rooms and bathrooms both look and feel old and outdated. It was also a little bit difficult to find, even following the map the reception gave us. Equivalent to a one star hotel. The stairs though I knew from reading other reviews that there wasn't a lift so expected them, however, we were on the top floor so rather a lot of them. It was the most expensive hotel on our trip but also the most basic accom. &Amp; breakfast. Coffee very poor. Noisy - this hotel is not for the light sleeper. absence ascensseur. Water leak in bathroom. too noisy. If staff knew any English, it would have helped. They were helpful though. Other thing is if you call reception, you have to go down to the reception to even get the remote to AC in your room. No one comes to your room. Stafffffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? Not clean toilet and shower (sharing). On breakfast no food for every guest, if come at 8.30-9.30 no clean plates, cups, you need to wait for 10-20 minutes for cleaning tables. Poor beds, no tv, 1 hour wifi, and NOT each day. Mosquitos galore. The common bathroom was not that clean. We had a shared shower which wasn't great and 2 single beds that were not together and were moved apart everyday by the staff. No hair dryer or fridge. Very small room, not clean. Unfriendly man at the desk. Many musquitos, no wire-netting. Poor breakfast selection, awful, watery instant coffee and nasty bread rolls on offer. I did not see the promised air conditioning facility in my room and it was humid enough to merit it. A couple of the desk staff were pleasant. but one, possibly the owner, was abrupt and surly. No lift, and I was on the third floor, so be warned, don't come with heavy luggage! It was a basic, utilitarian base, secure, and very central. It was inexpensive, but I still feel it could have been more pleasant. not frendly staff. no free wify, it is a must in any hotel. didnt gave us the remote for the AC, opened the windows and it is like moskito farm outside, dont ever open the window. slaming doors in the morning.
