The hotel is basic but really good value for money. The decor is dated but is really clean and tidy. We had cleaners come into the room daily swept moped and clean towels and sheets. The hotel is basically on the front of the canal about 1min walk from san marco square. We arrived in the dark via water bus from piazza de roma the no1 and where it stopped walk to the left over a bridge and to the left there is a taxi hut and opporsite that is an alley go down there 50meters and the hotel is on t.
all reviews » Great location just two blocks from San Marco square and one block from the water taxi (Vaporetto). Everybody was friendly and helpful. They allowed us to store our bags for several hours after we checked out so we could sightsee until it was time to catch our train. The location was perfect for enjoying a brief Venice experience, St. Mark's Square for instance, because of the close proximity to the Lux. I'm happy it was high on the recommended lists of hotels. Lovely location, quaint hotel, felt like we were actually a part of Venice's past... Highly recommended ... Great location, very clean, good staff and nice interior. Location. All was great. The dining room was rather small with seating for only about 18 people. We did have to wait for seating but only a couple of minutes. The room was very warm and I didn't know you had to request that air be turned on to cool the room!. There was no elevator. Nothing!. very late check in. poor breakfast without any cheese. high price for quality. there is no elevator. No fire escape, the hotel is up the narrow staircase, in case of fire you're cooked. Breakfast room to small and very cramped. It was dirty. There was no air in the breakfast room. The bath was quite dangerous, it had a lip that was easy to trip over because one could not see it very well. nothing was truly bad, just very basic. no elevator ,no air-condition, it is so hot. The room was quite small even for Venice. There was literally 3-4 sq m free space. Our room was on the third floor - meaning 30 stairs. When unlocking the door I found out that I had to climb another 10 stairs, then make a small step and lay in the bed. A step on the left would have meant that I would find myself in the bathroom. The bathroom was a bit small, too. Everything. The Hotel puts a picture which is not its, it is not looking at a canal or any waters. It is situated in a very narrow path, difficult to find. The rooms are very small, The breakfast is very poor, I was very happy to leave this hotel.
